Sheer numbers is one. Status matching is another - there are more opportunities for Black males to be on the same level of education, achievement, general worldview, etc., as White females than there are chances for Black females to be on the same level as White males.
Have you checked out black female academic status lately? There are lots of black female college graduates out there, and it’s possibly what might be driving some of the them to want to hook up with white men, which used to be the most improbable hookup. as social status peer equal mates.
As wives and SOs black women can bring a lot to the table and white men are opening their eyes to this fact.
Why not just call it, “Afromance”?

Most improbable? I’d say that the most improbable combination is Asian male - Black female. To a large extent, that’s because both groups are at a major disadvantage when it comes to dating and marriage.

I’ve been fascinated by online dating sites for a while because I think they’re all so awful. I’m convinced there’s a huge market opportunity for someone to make a online dating site that doesnt suck, but I havent figured out the secret.
One of the things I find amazing about these sites focused on a very narrow population don`t even allow you to search by geography. I can only assume it’s a necessity as they don’t have the membership base to support it. It’s so insane though - who in their right mind would want to search for dates who live in random parts of the country? Online dating is supposed to be a convenient alternative to meeting people the traditional way, not a convenient way to introduce a huge obstacle to success with any people you do connect with.
