God, I haven’t heard that name in years. A lot of the wind seemed to come out of his sails when he finally got hired by a religious high school and couldn’t even keep that job because he ran his mouth too much.
He was a substitute teacher at my high school. Once. He wasn’t invited back. The story going around after it happened was that he asked the only black student he saw that day if she was an African-American and then berated her for saying yes, telling her she wouldn’t even be able to find Africa on a map (she was near the top of her class).
People like this - and I’m afraid they are more numerous and more powerful than a lot of people realize - have absolutely no regard for anyone’s rights or values; they fully intend to steamroll right over anyone who’s in their way.
I think this guy would have to be bit of a devolution from Chick, as I’m pretty sure his tracts would at least put language like that in the mouths of the bad guys. Chick always came off to me as the type of guy who would avoid saying “vibes” in real life, saying it was a New Age concept. Heck, he might be against saying “good luck.”
