DannyBoy & SINsApple- Take a look over the Mormonism thread in GD as well. I agree that David B. can be abrasive and caustic; but I think that N/A went three shades of ballistic over being caught in his own errors and lack of knowledge.
As for being from Hotmail- hey, they get rid of all the Hotmail users, and I’m gone too. [self-depreciating grin] Not that I’d stake much upon the board rising up with a “we can’t lose John Corrado!” movement should such a thing be considered. [/self-depreciating grin]

I know almost everyone here. Much better might I add thankt to Newtons thread. True he lambasted Frankie (but that may be becuase Newton says he was here before). He may have had conflicts and long ongoing problems with some people. Maybe thats why his name changed? He appaeared to be generally well meaning and social till now albeit that he shared too much information about his married life (Anal thread) but is that really out there for these boards? No. I’ve seen worse. Dare I say that I found his honesty in some places refreshing. His views on people making their own arguments and postings without having to find support was commendable. He showed a sparkle of real charisma and social aclimitization. I think that we are unaware of what really rubbed him raw. I see that there is a very shocking rally around anyone who did wrong other than Newton/Formerposter here. Everyone contributed to this as a whole by not stopping this. It appeared to any onlooked (me) that this was the type of behaviour that gets worse and worse and is being carryed out more and more. Mob mentality is no mentality at all.
Now, I haven’t been posting terribly long to this board, but from what I have observed, all that is required to establish an amicable relationship with David B is a willingness to base one’s arguments upon facts. Now, our understanding of the world is such that one can find facts to support both sides of many arguments, which is why it is possible to have debates that cannot be resolved. Great Debates, in fact, thrives on just such arguments.
It is entirely possible to disagree with David B on every possible issue and nonetheless get along with him just fine, in fact, there are more than a few people on the boards who do precisely that. But to interpret his ascerbic wit and unwillingness to suffer fools gladly(or at all) as indescriminate ad hominem attacks, is rediculous. Try reading Cecils’ books or columns, if you want to encounter some vicious put-downs of idiocy! Life is too short to waste time being nice to people who refuse to listen to reason.
Now, as for you: you may be who you say you are, but I hope you can understand that by jumping headfirst into a discussion like this, people may make the logical assumption that you are yet another manifestation of one of the trolls. If you are not, then making intelligent, reasonable contributions will make it quite clear. If you are, then may the gods have mercy upon your soul.
Like, he’s throwing himself on David so that other ignorant, opinionated jerks who cannot differentiate between anecdotes and facts can sneak in and post? I haven’t noticed any while he’s sacrificing himself. Besides, anyone who posts unsubstantiated rumours and gets abusive when called upon it is treated the same way, whether by David or others.

Before you begin to turn your tirades and attacks on me please note I am only a newly “registered” poster. Not so new that you can pretend to have a leg up on me. I know that Felice didnt start posting till earlier this month. I have been watching since mid to late November. I believe that in itself is credential enough to speak here without you telling me “stay out”. I already regret having registered and begun my residency on these boards in this social climate but if I want to make an impact and be known and have a reputation, why not here? I am not saying Newton is free from guilt here. By no means. But is not every person who posted and contributed to that “crucifixion” not equally guilty? On another subject Glitch is tempting fate in his taunting of this person. I dont think Newton is whom we have heard from using Newtons name today. I think todays looney is in fact a young house-sitter as this is the only scenario that makes real sense. That or evolution has just made a simple troll into a super being able to regenerate and mutate at will and actually become more social accepted and cunning. If Glitch knows as much as he/she claims to then they would know that to tell a loon that “you are full of hot wind” will only make the insane fires burn hotter and higher. This is to dare a person beyond sanity to go further. They will just because their egos wont allow them to be beaten by “you”. I go as far as to say after carefully analyzing some of our recent trolls I believe them to each be a seperate identity. Each has a topic or area of interest different than the others. They show some proficiency in each but not expertise. They each talk about different life experiences and topics. Each has been challenged or attacked by a similar group of posters. Yet each new one harbors no instant hostility for these same people. Even Bricker noted this as I did. Either this troll has a short memory or he/shes is different each time. I even noted formerposter saying that Newton liked Bricker. So lets step back and look at this and wonder what phenomenon is really occuring. Is this board getting a name as a place for lunatics to vent? Providing an icon and a person to focus on (DavidB)? Igniting the fuses of those who have too little to start?
Perhaps a more heart felt humanitarian group can get around this trying time. Maybe we can even educate rather than hunt and eradicate? I speak in defense of no one and yet everyone so let no one say I have taken up the defense of any one or any troll.

I have read the threads you alluded to. I have read every thread Newton posted. He may seem scattered and moody but until recently he didnt seem psychotic. By the way didnt you claim to have a heart condition? Best suited for throwing tantrums and attacking new psoters Im sure.
Bricker I woundt go that far. Whatever facts he may have had died with his screen name. But I think in his delusional state (whether him or not) he brought to our attention a situation that should be rectified or run the possibility of bring more “house-sitters” out here.

I think it is difficult to conceal things like style of writing. I think it’s easy to claim to like or not like someone. That observation has very little probative value.
