I thought I’d seen threads that were aimed at Staff in such forums as MPSIMS, but perhaps I am wrong in that memory, too.

Lib, because you posted this thread in the Pit, people are going to assume you’re being sarcastic and take the OP that way, as many posters did before you explained. It just doesn’t make sense to post something in a forum that it’s bound to be taken the wrong way in, such as a sincere apology in the Pit.
I don’t think you were trying to be intentionally confusing, so I don’t get why you posted it here. Yeah if you want to spell out the description of this forum, it can fit but anyone who’s been here longer than a day knows the Pit rarely has anything to do with “discussion regarding the administration of the SDMB.” So using that as justification for posting it here doesn’t really make that much sense either, given the actual nature of the Pit.
I just don’t get why you would want to intentionally make your thread more confusing than it is.
The “and other discussion regarding administration of the SDMB” part means (IMO) that any discussion about a moderator’s actions, whether it’s to thank them for a job well done or to flame them, goes here. If you’re talking about the person with their mod-hat off, yeah, it might go in MPSIMS. But if you’re talking about their on-the-job actions, it’s required that it be in the Pit .
I don’t think Lib was wrong at all for posting it here and I can’t imagine where else it might go.

Sometimes Lib posts things that he means to be highly ironic or as parodies, and sometimes these aren’t taken as he means them to be by some people. That’s not necessarily his fault; some of us just don’t get it right away.
But yeah, upon further reflection this is the best place for this thread. Which is a shame. It’s like the old department store joke - there’s no counter for “Compliments,” only “Complaints.”
