Did anyone ever get the rotor assembly out of that second tent camp we raided?
Incidentally, I found an ATV on the “home base” server. I’ve been using it to scout for copter crashes, but I might be able to pack it with repair supplies if you need them.
EDIT: If I don’t get killed before then. Vehicles cut your lifespan down pretty dramatically.
That would definitely be cool. Don’t risk yourself too much but the best place to look for spare parts is the industrial high yield stuff on DayZ DB.
By the way - this thread is public and we should be careful about how specific we are in the thread. Generally speaking, if you find something like a tent camp or something, you should only give the coordinates and server number in vent or over steam chat. Saying “there’s a blah blah on server ###” could bring people here by googling “server ###”, then they’d know where our stuff is.
I don’t know how likely it is, but we should just avoid the problem altogether by speaking vaguely in the thread and in specifics only in private.

I messed around during the night. Managed to find an AKM and M1911 but am down to 5600 blood. convenience store wont respawn and the blood bags I have I cant use! Quitting now, will play again later on this evening Chicago time.
The fuck? I signed on to scout around for you guys and all my nice gear was gone!
Speaking of shitty things, I lost my ATV when it brushed across a bit of foliage. Nothing was damaged, but from that point forward it would only drive in tight circles, like it had been locked to a pivot at the rear tire. So I left it alone and transferred servers.
Minutes after transferring servers, everybody on the new server was transported to the top of the hotel in Cherno. I managed to ALT-F4 out before the shooting started, but I was still stuck atop the hotel with no way to get down. I logged into a couple different servers and managed to transfer to a server that put me inside the hotel lobby, allowing me to escape.
And then a few minutes later I was flung into the air and died when I landed.
Of course, it wasn’t all bad. I made a new character and within ten minutes I had found a working motorcycle in near perfect condition. Ten minutes after that, I found a copter crash site that had an L85A2 AWS and an M107.
What’s the timing on things tonight? I’m up in the area, but won’t be on til 10pm EST.
There was a new patch for day z today, but don’t do it yet. We’re staying on current version until our target server is upgraded.
As far as schedule - we’re going to start raiding the camp within an hour if we have the right people on. We’ll have the helicopter as long as we can keep it.
I expect to be rescuing you from the smoking wreckage in 6 hours or so.

Ok, bad news, the server was screwy and the helicopter and ural truck dissapeared. It’s possible the original owners moved or destroyed them, but it’s also possible whatever problems the server has deleted them.
So that really sucks.
But we kept searching the area, and found their bus. So we’ve got that going for us tonight. So hop on vent, we’ll pick you up on the bangbus.

Well, that was an eventful day.
We’ve only been able to find vehicles on servers that have an unusually high level of play. I guess that at least partially makes sense since higher level players are finding and repairing the vehicles more often. But we’ve been unable to do goofy shit to unarmed or lightly armed newbies with our vehicles, since the first contact with the enemy usually comes from a guy in a ghillie suit and a 50 cal sniper rifle wrecking our shit.
After the helicopter thing went bust, we kept searching the area thinking they probably had another camp there. And either they, or another group, did. We found some tents, a van, and a bus. We loaded the shit in the tents into the vehicles, hid the van for later, and took off on the bus. Picked up 4 more people along the east coastal road bringing us to 6. Kept heading south along the coastal road to pick up more people.
Ended up taking fire around the southeast corner of the map - fire from the woods with silenced weapons. The rest of us ejected and took cover, searched around for the source of the fire, but couldn’t find them - so we eventually rushed back into the bus and took off, with mutton and captain c having died in the initial attack. We couldn’t loot them since we were still dodging fire from the guys we couldn’t see - just loaded up and took off.
C respawned in electro and apparently became the bitch of a motorcycle gang fairly quickly. Running around unarmed, they offered to let him ride on the backs of one of their bikes. They then headed east towards us - possibly because they were in communication with the first group.
Motorcyle gang makes contact with us east of electro. Captain C, in an apparent attempt to bail out of the bike and presumably help us somehow, ends up bailing at like 40 mph and dying when he hits the ground. I have video. I accidentally equipped my PDW instead of my AK, and didn’t have time to switch, so I shot the driver of that motorcycle roughly 19 times with the stupid PDW, and he died, but not before inflicting a fatal wound on me. The rest of the motorcycle gang apparently finished off the rest of our people, so we were all dead.
When we respawned, someone figured out where in electro they were storing their extra bikes. C hopped on one and came to pick me up, and we went for our old corpses to gear up. Except those guys hid the corpses, making them unretrievable, which sucks. They took the bus - they’d ran it into electro where they hit a roadblock so hard one wheel flew off and the other one got jammed. They abandoned it and headed up to the woods around electro.
Mutton managed to get on the bus and loot an enfield we’d had stored in the cargo bay, but couldn’t locate the gang without optics, while they picked us off when we tried to run back into the city. But if we could just get a wheel to replace the missing one on the bus, we could hop in and run like hell.
So I found an extra wheel west of electro and snuck into the city with it. Made it to the bus. Put it on - woo. And… moved the bus about 30 feet. One of the other wheels was completely jammed up and you couldn’t drive the bus forward. We’d need another wheel.
At this point they’d heard the bus move and sent a guy in on a bike to investigate. He parked the bike and went to hide in a building near the bus. I took a shotgun out of the bus cargo hold and went hunting for him, but he got the drop on me first. I think it was at this point that C snuck in and tried to steal that guy’s unguarded bike, but got shot in the back on the way out.
Eventually mutton finds another wheel and makes it back to the bus. It works - the bus is drivable. He quickly books out of electro and heads west - picks me up along the coastal road. We pick up C in cherno, then head North to pick up Richard Parker and someone else who I can’t recall at the moment. In the time it’s taken to save the bus, most of us have scrapped up some weapons, but we’re fairly undergeared.
After picking up those two, we head further north to pick up RyJae… we’re on some backroads in the middle of nowhere when all of the sudden a sniper about 100m to our right off the road in some trees on a hill opens up on us. No one dies but the lumber road we’re on makes the bus travel too slow for us to escape, so we all rush out of the bus. I saw his position from the bus, so I call it out and we swarm it.
I think, but couldn’t confirm, he was using the lame exploit of disconnecting, hopping on another server, moving, then coming back to the original server in a new position. Because we swarmed where he should’ve been, and he kept popping up in a new place a couple minutes later. When I realized what was going on, I figured I, and maybe one other guy, should hunt him down but the rest should get the bus to safety. Except then we realized that his first shots hadn’t hit us because he was shooting out the 2 right tires on the bus. We were stuck. So we continued to hunt him down, but with a ghillie suit in dense woods players are extremely hard to find - if he was also hopping around servers on top of that… anyway, he eventually killed all 5 of us.
I was running back to find a bike that I’d stashed away during the battle in electro, when I got slashed by a zombie and I had no bandage. I saw a well geared guy along the road and asked him to bandage me. And he did, but apparently he also was given all his gear by another hacker in the server who was watching us. And that hacker just spontaneously gave me a full set of gear - AS50, silenced M4, ghillie suit, the whole works. Which was weird, cause I didn’t want to get banned for having stolen gear.
While I was debating whether to drop it or not, the hacker sent in the airborne cow brigade. A dozen cows floated out of the sky on parachutes on top of me. Then two dozen buses on parachutes, half of which exploded upon landing on something in the ground, but that left a dozen busses ready to take. Well, I didn’t like playing on a hacked server, but the hacker had left and I guess we might as well go with it now, so I hop on the bus planning to go pick the other guys up. And then… the bus blows up. Which is weird, because the hacker guy is gone.
So anyway, the rest of them actually managed to make it back to where our (legit) bus had lost its wheels, which I was impressed because it was in a pretty obscure location that you needed a map for. They looted the gear they could. RyJae and C ran to the bus farm to grab another bus. I told them not to - I wasn’t sure what the deal was but mine exploded - but they went in anyway and, as expected, the buses exploded. Apparently that’s some sort of anticheat measure that doesn’t really work - hackers can spawn vehicles, but the game recognizes that the vehicles were spawned illegitimately and makes them time bombs. Which is stupid, because that just means the hackers can set traps for random people who have no way of knowing and did nothing wrong.
So that was about it - the guys who didn’t go on the suicide bus got their gear back, everyone else was dead, and we called it a night. I’ll make some videos at some point. All in all, pretty interesting. The first encounters, where we had fights alongside the southeast coast and in electro, were totally legit and interesting fights. Rescuing the bus in electro was awesome. The second encounter was probably fairly exploited and lame because of it. Still, pretty busy day in Chernorus.
I shouldn’t understate the amount of win the day started off with. That group of asshats that killed us originally on Tuesday (?) when we found our first bus, and then stole our gear and blew up our bus - it was their camp we found. We cleaned out their tents, saved to make sure they wouldn’t duplicate, and then stole 2 of their vehicles. That was proper revenge.
Sounds like hackers are ruining the game. Especially that disconnect exploit. That’s lame. The powers that be need to shut that down. I wonder if they could make it that if you disconnect while alive that you cannot respawn anywhere near your original position on the map. That way at least you have a golden parachute if you don’t want to get killed but you also can’t keep popping back in near where you were to take potshots at others.
Me and shotgunderek had a Sunday gameday. It was long and arduous made better by us finding a fast boat (pbx 70kph) Some deaths, some kills, a ton of server hopping on the island to find a spawned heli.
We laid an ambush on the nw hospital in chern, only to get swarmed and outnumbered quickly 3-1 maybe worse. A few took the factory high point to the south and took out shotgunderek. He died valiantly taking 2 with him. I took out one in the apartment north of the hospital, leaving at least one more in the building which I was watching as we got flanked. Our third guy, a completely new player was in the apartments to the west top floor armed only with a shotgun went over to the apartment I killed the guy in the get his gear. It was to late we had people all around us. I was close to “cheat” disconnecting but I steadied myself for a few minutes. The pallets protecting me from the factory shooters seeing me, yet being able to shoot anyone that climbed to the roof. I then took the low road and aborted the mission when no one came up and I had zero hope of moving anywhere else on the roof without being shot.
It was a good day, we have a pbx (even if we lose it, we can get another fairly easily) which is useful for picking up along the coast quickly to regroup. As well as heli spawn island searching. The plan is going to be, we (as in the normal group players) should get Senorbeef to assign copter parts to us and we should have a central tent to put them in. I am going to hunt some parts up and place them in a tent on the island so when it respawns… air superiority!
After meeting up with the guys and getting a few nice things. I thought I was doing well. Lost my shotgun but had a M1911 with 7 mags.
I was in a barn and three zeds started up the stairs nice and slow. No worries. I hit the first with a headshot and it didnt even faze him! I emptied three clips into them and they walked right through the bullets and ate me! I hit each of them at LEAST 6 times with a 1911 WTF?!?! Lost all my gear and respawned way the hell down in Elektro with half the city on fire. I’m thinking hackers again.

No worries, gear is easy come easy go. 
Regearing is part of the fun! I am however getting an urge for faster movement, this walking is getting old! I must find a vehicle (other than a tractor or a jinxed bus) soon 
I had that happen a few days ago. Shot a zombie probably half a dozen times with an 1866. He proceeded to bite me, and I passed out. As he continued to snack on me, he suddenly (probably a good 10 seconds after shooting him) went through the headshot animation and died. I bled out before waking up.
Then I got killed by a door shortly after respawning. Haven’t played since.
