DC-area dopers: You're invited to the Edward the Head Bon Voyage Barbecue, May 15

Join us for a backyard barbecue party to say goodbye to Edward the Head before he leaves on his 5-week trip to Europe! It’s Saturday, May 15, at 5 p.m. at my house in Falls Church, VA. I am sending out e-vites for this, so please post here or send me your e-mail address to brookeln (at) earthlink.net so I can send an e-vite to you.

I’m going to be grilling up some hamburgers and hotdogs and providing beverages, including beer and margaritas! I am hoping people could bring some dishes such as pasta and/or potato salad and stuff like that to round out the feast.

Not only will it be good food and good company, but it will be your last chance to see Edward before he takes off to Europe, so you’ll want to be sure to stop by, give him a big hug and tell him how much you’ll miss him (and maybe tell him what souvenirs you want him to bring back for you)!

Would you believe I’ll actually be in town that day?

But I’m in a wedding up in Hagerstown.

I fly to E3 tomorrow from Columbus to LA.

Then LA to Dulles on the red eye Fri-Sat night. Touch down 8:30AM and drive to the wedding.

Then the reception and drive home.

But I’m there in spirit, Eddie. I am.

Yeah Opal bring your riblets. Maybe I will also make my pasta salad that you like, although ETH won’t be able to eat it 'cuz it has green onions in it. It would be cool to get a bunch of fresh berries and make our own frozen concoction out of it!

I’m kinda on the fence here. I can come, but probably wouldn’t get there until 6 or 6:30. But if the party’s moving to DC Midnight at ~9pm, my clubbing days (such as they were) are long past, and I can’t see driving to Falls Church just for a couple hours.
