To help celebrate (and mourn) OpalCat’s impending move to Atlanta in early January, we’d like everyone to join us for a Farewell Opal Party on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 (New Year’s Day) at 4 pm, at the Broad Street Grill in Falls Church, VA (easily located just off of I-66, a couple miles off the beltway). The Broad Street Grill offers a variety of low-priced sandwiches, salads, entrees and appetizers, and they have a pool table, juke box and bar. Join us to eat, drink and hang out and say goodbye to our dear friend. We’ll be hanging out until 7 or 8 pm, at which time Katherine and I will be going into the city to our usual Saturday night haunt, Midnight. Of course you are all welcome to join us, if you dare! :wink:

This is very close to where I live, so this one I can attend for sure. (barring a hangover).

I’m planning to be in DC over New Year’s, so I’ll probably attend. I’ll let you know as I finalize my plans.

By 4 pm I think you’ll be well enough to attend, I hope! And even if you aren’t 100%, a few more drinks will make you feel as good as new! :wink:

Yup, I am moving to Atlanta! Marietta, actually, at least at first as that is where I’ll be staying until I get my own place…

Glad to hear from some of the usual suspects that they’re planning on coming! The party is still 28 days away, so if this thread sinks I will bump occasionally so people will be reminded and so those who haven’t seen it or responded can see it.

No, that was Luna Park Grill in Westover.

This is in Falls Church proper and is much bigger than that other place and has ample parking.
