I’m in the same boat as Super Gnat. Have you guys ever considered having the Lunch Brunch on a day other than Friday?
Also I’ve been thinking about starting something similar to the Lunch Brunch, only it’d be dinner and drinks, once a month or so and potentially move around between Baltimore and DC and other parts nearby. The Lunch Brunch is cool, but it being centered in DC during the day excludes a lot of dopers from coming regularly, if at all. If anybody’s interested let me know and I’ll start a thread for it.

I’m certainly open to suggestions for moving the Lunch Bunch, but I kinda like having it on Fridays - if for nothing more than just something to make the end of the week less hectic. If you want to start your own regular dinner-type events at a different time and place that would be easy for more Dopers to get to, all the more power to you. Us downtown Dopers don’t have the monopoly on fests.
Olentzero, excellent. I am trying to rope a handful of other people into coming, too. Because I really don’t want to have to sneak one of those 96-oz bottles back up to my room. Problem is, I don’t quite know what time I will be getting out of the test. I’ll have to try to keep people updated.
Well, I hate to be a wet blanket, but I’m not going to be there today - the Tzeroling’s school is closed and Mrs. O has several home care patients that need to be visited today. (Death, it seems, does not take snow days.) So I’m staying right here in Arlington to do the “stay-at-home stepdad” thang for a day.

Well, I braved it in to work this morning (think “misshap filled journey lasting the approximate length of the crusades”…) and feel that some ABP soup would be just the reward for me- so I’ll be there. Don’t make me shiver out there in the cold by myself!
Olentzero, sorry you won’t make it, snowdays are supposed to be about fun and blowing off responsibility- Will you build a snowman in honor of all of us working stiffs?
I sloshed into work too…so I’ll be there. We’ll meet near the elevator at the 14th St. exit of the McPherson Square Metro station. If you arrive late and we aren’t there, check ABP…we definitely won’t be at the coffee shop we ended up at last time!
Well, good news all- we had 3 hardy souls in attendance (**Soup, DCNews, ** and myself) Am I allowed to bold that? And we enjoyed the soup du jour at ABP thoroughly…They are back in my good graces, having redeemed the “stale bread incident,” and the “no pumpkin soup” incident with truly decent chile corn chowder. Damn, I’m easy!
Anyway, that should head off future disasters at any random coffee shops I select- See everyone on the 21st.
I’m in too. I’m just a block away. Plus, if we do tire of ABP, there is a new Cosi on the opposite corner that has great food and enough room for us to sit.
