dcnewsman in Seattle? No! When?!?

That’s right, your friend and mine, dcnewsman, will be coming out to visit later on this month for a week of sun and fun! Well…fun.

He’ll be getting here on the evening of the 13th (that’s a Saturday) and taking off again on the 20th (that’s a Saturday, too). I myself will be taking the 15th-17th to hang out with him.

So the question I put to other Seattle, Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, Everett, heck PNW Dopers, is…who wants to go fer dinner? Heck, maybe we could make a day of it, depending on the timing and whether or not we want to overwhelm him with our wit and sagaciousness.

Lemme know, we’ll pick a day and a time and we can go from there.

Surely there must be more than just Aguecheek in the Greater Seattle environs. (No Microsoft geeks here?) Anyhow, just 5 more days so sign up now. Aguecheek needs time to pick the location, make reservations, order the party favors…

No I’m here, but my husband & I are going on a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. I have no time! Besides, I can’t wear party hats.

DC have a good time here.

Hey, pick a day, and let us know.

I’ll be in Philly from Friday through late Wednesday night. I think I’ll be too wiped out on Thursday, but I could probably manage Friday…or Saturday (when does he leave?) I’ll keep that open just in case…let me know, I’ll check this thread as soon as I get back.

I’d like to meet you, dc!

Cheri

I’ll prolly bump this sometime in the morning to catch the West Coast folks, but just in case I don’t get a chance…

We’re thinking of hanging out on Friday night at Dad Watson’s in Fremont, just across the street from the statue of Lenin. Good beer, and hopefully, the weather’ll be nice enough to sit outside. Guess we’ll see what happens.

Seeing as how I’ve got to get home before we get there, I’d say 8 pm’s a good time to meet.

So. To recap. 8 o’clock at Dad Watson’s across from the statue of Lenin. I’ll make reservations under Cecil’s name so we’ll all know which table.

Hope to see everyone there.

Aw. KKB and I are supposed to get together with lawoot that night to see Bubba Ho-Tep in the U-District. I don’t think we’ll be able to make it. Hope you all have a good time.

I’ll check with my wife.

And Audrey, if you delay BHT from Friday to Saturday night at 9pm, you’ll get to see Bruce Campbell in person.

Dad Watson’s doesn’t take reservations, but they said there’ll be no problems for a medium-sized group just showing up. When we get there, I’ll let a server know where we’re sitting.

Just in case, I’m currently wearing (and see no reason whatsoever to change) a brown striped shirt and white tee underneath. Glasses and goatee. Hell, there’s pictures of me on my little “www” underneath here.

The bar’s at 3601 Fremont Ave. N. We’ll be there around 8. Look forward to meeting some of you!

[sub]Bruce Campbell in person? I’d wait a day![/sub]

Sorry to say that Bruce won’t be attending. When we first heard about him being there we were pretty excited about it. We’ve had our eye on BHT for three weeks now…well, technically longer, since we tried to get in during its SIFF run in June. Anyway, just last week they announced that due to a scheduling conflict, he can’t make it.

The nerve of the guy.

Oh well. :frowning:

Sad to say, something’s come up for me tonight and I won’t be able to be there. Hoist a pint, if you would, you scurvy dogs. Arrr.

Guess who was the third-to-last person admitted to that sold-out midnight screening. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m so sorry…I got home from vacation and my car is dead, my computer is sick…and I started feeling like death warmed over last night. So I’m sick too. I guess my life has the dreaded curse virus.

Have fun, and know that I would LOVE to have been there.

Oh man. I can’t even bring myself to feel envious. I mean, the showings were probably sold out before we even remembered that SIFF was in town. -sigh-

But since I’m here: :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope everything feels better soon, Scotti.

I knew there was something I was going to do tonight…
I’m sorry I missed you.
