The other night (possibly under influence of too much bubbly) AudreyK and KKBattousai admitted that they have not yet Met The Man. Obviously this is an oversight that needs to be addressed. We’re talking about going next weekend - anyone else in the area want to come along?
I was thinking of meeting up there around 11, but if a lot of people are coming we might want to make it after the lunch rush instead, so that we’ll be able to get a big table.
There’s a map and editorial review at http://seattle.citysearch.com/review/10728529/editorial/
I’ll try, you know I love all of you and would LOVE to spend some time with you. I am pretty snowed under at the moment, though, so I will have to get back to you later in the week to let you know for sure.
Sounds like fun! I have not only NOT “met the man,” but I have never HAD BBQ before!
You’re snowed under, Scotti? Funny that we’ve had no snow here at all this winter yet. I have not met The Man, and I’m sure I’ve had BBQ before, but probably nothing like that.
Yeah, how are you snowed under? We haven’t had a lick of snow (in Seattle proper, anyhoo). Unless you mean that you’re really busy. Then I understand.
I might be able to come! I haven’t met The Man, either, but I haven’t the slightest intention of doing so. (I like my esophogus intact, thankyewverymuch.) But I’ll try to join you all anyway.
F_X: If you think you might make it and need a place to stay the night, we can put you up. We’ve got plenty of space.
Be warned, if you stay Saturday night you’ll have to watch me mangle my way through amateur hockey, and I know that’s a painful thing for a Canadian
Looking forward to seeing you guys, and going to Dixie’s. I’m not sure if I’ll wuss out on the hot stuff yet. In my head, I’ve already equated meeting The Man with voluntarily plopping an eyedropperful of hydrochloric acid on my tongue. (I’m also not sure my tummy can handle it.) But I am nonetheless looking forward to it.
I met The Man at the Bite of Seattle but I have never been to Dixie’s restaurant despite my dad’s repeated recommendations. I would like to come but have a possible conflict so I can’t give a definite answer yet.
I have nothing planned for that day yet but working for Boeing that can change real fast. I have tried some of Dixies at the Bite too. I will bring a fresh bottle of Tums with me too. I know I will need it.
Ahh…but how will you know what we LOOK like? You might be “lurking” in on conversations that have nothing to DO with you/us…besides which, I wouldn’t want you to have to get dragged off to Harborview, having been slapped about the head and neck when someone says…[sub]Um…honey, there is this strange person LURKING there, and they appear to be listening to our conversations. I mean, that person might be…like…a NARC or something…!!!"[/sub]
Better to just join us. But if you DON’T choose to join…choosing to lurk instead… please note…PNW DopeFests are nothing like what you might want to think. True, we do giggle a lot and also discuss the issues of the universe…[sub]we haven’t exactly SOLVED anything yet…but we are TRYING![/sub]…but you may not think that what you THINK you think is true! [sub]or something like that[/sub]
Awesome. I’m bringing the camera
I could tell you what will probably happen … but instead I think it would be better to leave you hanging in suspense. mwhaha!
Well, just look for the group of people always looking around at everybody who passes by, almost as if they have no idea what the other member’s of their party look like.
And The Man sauce (mental note: find better phrase for future posts) makes eating jalapeno peppers look like popping candy corn by comparison, huh?
Call me and my wife a “maybe.” That’s opening weekend for the play we’ve been working on, so our availability is iffy.
But I’ve lived in the Northwest for 28 years, and have never Met The Man. I keep meaning to. Really. I do. Just haven’t. Maybe this would be a good chance.
