Seattle/PNW Dopers: Dopelunch at Dixie's BBQ, Jan 11

First the good news: I’m making an unexpected trip up wo Washington.

Now the bad news: I’ll be driving on the 11th, and I won’t have tome to stop in Seattle anyway.

Have fun!

Which play?

Hope you and herownself can make it, Cervaise. It would be nice to see you folks again.

Aw, no Johnny. :frowning: I’m glad, though, that you seem to be working your way up here. I know you’ve been wanting to for a long, long time.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again at Burien Live Theatre. It’s a stage adaptation of one of the Clouseau movies, so it’ll have lots of falling down, silly accents, and general goofiness. Neither of us is in it, though; my wife is assistant stage manager, so she’s behind the scenes, and I’m the dialect coach, so once the play is up and running my work is done. It opens Friday and runs four weekends.

I talked to my wife about lunch on Saturday, and she thinks we’ll be able to make it. What time should we be shooting for?

I called them just now to see if there was a busy time that we should avoid, and she said that Saturday lunches aren’t as bad as weekday lunches, when they get groups of 30 coming in at once and the lines are backed up out the door.

So we could probably pick whatever time works best for the most people. I suggested 11 at first because that’s when they open, but if that’s too early for a spicy lunch we can make it later. Name your time!

Here’s who’s said they are coming so far:
AudreyK
KKBattousai
P.T. Smegma
leafrog
racer72
Cervaise & herownself
JayLa & Mr. La (a.k.a. [4], although not here)

Maybes:
stargazer
Scotticher
pendgwen

Did I miss anyone?

I’ll come, but I’m not eating anything that causes chemical burns. My macho side has never driven me to that sort of thing, and now I’m old and weak.

Oops, better put me down as a maybe…might have to work. At which point I’ll holler out the window a great big howdy to you guys.

Sorry. Left off a couple of things. First, 11 am is fine with me, but so is any other time. Second, Scotti, if we don’t believe you have snow, why do you think we’d buy alligators? Besides, large reptiles would be easy to handle in the snow, being cold-blooded and everything…:stuck_out_tongue:

ok, looks like 11 a.m. it is.

See you there!

[sub]This post brought to you by the letters B, U, M and P.[/sub]

Looks like it’ll be quite a party.

I’ll also bring a camera. And some Tums.

Ditto :frowning:

I think my wife and I are probably going to be there. Depends on how late the opening-night cast party goes tonight, and whether we’ll want to get up at the crack of an hour before noon.

I just wish I had noticed this earlier - unfortunately I’m having a musical rehearsal for “1776” that morning, that doesn’t let out until 10, and I live in Bremerton.

Sorry, darlings…I am not going to be able to be there, much as I would like to see you all again. I am so far behind at this point that I might never see daylight again. [sub]and those alligators keep looking at me with this sort of…“slow down, honey, we are HUNGRY and you look like…like…A MEAL!” sort of look. It is kind of unsettling, to say the least…) [/sub]

Please hug each other for me…

My wife and I planned on attending but I have come down with a nasty case of bacterial infection (caused by food poisening) and now I have a stomach virus on top of that. My wife was looking forward to it too (I promised her an afternoon at Bellevue Square). A little bribary never hurts once in a while. Have a good time.

You need a dose of The Man. Ain’t a germ been born can survive that stuff.

Every raise a pint of laughably impotent icewater to me, as I’ll be celebrating my birthday tomorrow by climbing up Mt. Si and screaming naked at the Gods.

Heppy birdday, Kakkerlak!

I’m sorry you folks who can’t make it can’t make it. Next time, ya better be there. See youse guys tomorrow!
