I’ll miss Mandy but the fact that it’s coming back at all makes up for that loss. It’ll be interesting to watch the remaining characters play against a new boss.
YAY! You just made my morning! Also, I agree with Greywolf - no Mandy is bad, but there’s enough else there that it’ll still be worth having back, for sure.
I really enjoyed Dead Like Me, and I liked Mandy Patinkins acting, but whenever he was on screen I was filled with trepidation that, by some unlikely chain of occurrences, he would launch into song. I realize his singing is competent, but I hate Irish tenors. I won’t miss him that much. I apologize to those who enjoy Irish tenors.
Or he’d say, “You killed my father, prepare to die.”
I’m not surprised he isn’t coming back - he’s a Really Big Star, and probably has a thousand other projects with a guaranteed higher ROR than DLM could be. That’s OK - I’m glad Ellen will be there. She’s cute!
Not so much that he has a thousand other projects. He has one, Criminal Minds which I think is doing pretty good. Why would he leave a sucessful network show for a direct to video movie and a possibility of a new cable series?
I will miss him on the show. He had depth to the character that a “corporate type” won’t have. Still looking forward to it.
Ooh, that’s very cool. I knew there was something of a movement to bring it back, but it didn’t look very active, so I’m really surprised. Will miss Rube - IIRC they were setting up some mysteries about him towards the end that never got resolved.
I am so stoked for this. That was one of my favorite shows. Mason was my favorite character. Here’s a quote as to why I love him:
Rube: I’m going to be gone for a few days, so don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. And by that I mean ‘don’t fuck up.’ And by ‘don’t fuck up’ I mean Mason.
Mason: Why do you assume I’m going to fuck up?
Rube: Because you’re a fuck up.
I enjoyed the show, even though they apparently never really worked the mythology behind it. I wonder if we’ll see Cynthia Stevenson (Joy Lass, Geoge’s mom). Though it would make more sense if George had learned to leave her life behind, and stop bugging her surviving family.
If Ellen Muth insists on doing nudity, I’ll still respect her.
I’ll watch it. I am not as psyched as you all are, but I rented the series and found it oddly fascinating. I could live without the side family plot. Her parents and sister bored the piss out of me. I found her oddly attractive. She has an odd face, but I was still attracted to her.
