Dear Diary: My first night in Calgary...

What a hoot.

Friendly people, great beer, lots o’hills. (Could use more oxygen though… )

The first place we hit was the “Watchman” I believe it was called. Had a quick pint in there. Met some people that were actually from my neck of the woods in Ontario.

Then we headed off the the R&C. Great place! Very crowded!!!

We didn’t say to long as I had only just landed and was beat.

We’re heading out again tonight, (now that I am rested) but I’m not sure where yet.

Great place ya have here!!!

(BTW: Calgary, by far, has the sexiest ladies anywhere!)

But of course, darling! Did you think we would misrepresent ourselves?

Yep. No disagreement here.

Some of the most gorgeous U students anywhere too… so good I had to marry one.

Yowsa.

Absolutly not! The thin air keeps ya’ll fit!

I’m gonna try and find out where we are heading tonight. Maybe we can get that Mini-Dope Fest going.

I just found out that we will be hitting “Ranchmans” for a little while.

Anyone interested?

Jesus.
The Ranchmans.

Sorry, honey, I can’t make it in to the city tonight.

I was there for the Stampede once. They had a 50% off sale at the mall. You don’t know fear until you’ve seen a horde of women rush the shoe department.

I saw the chuckwagon race. Well, they say I did. I was blind drunk at the time. It’s the only way to be if you find yourself in Calgary at that time of year.

I came home with a monster hangover and a 10 liter cowboy hat.

I did manage to get screwed, though. I gave a bartender a fifty and he never brought back the change.

Yep, I’ll go again.

[sub] Ooo…my head hurts…[/sub]

What a night. I got the tour of downtown Cow-Town on my way to Ranchmans. Quite a nice city.

Ranchmans was a hoot. Cheep drinks, good music, beautiful women. (I particularly liked the girl on the stoop that sells the beer as you walk in, and yep, I have a fondness for Country.)

We were all about to head out for the night when two couples (A couple of couples??? ) asked if they could join us at our table. It turns out the one guy is Red Dawgfrom the CJAY morning show.

We ended up staying until last call with these folks and had a blast.

Good times were had by all.

[sub] I have still yet to meet someone that is actually from Calgary though. [/sub]

I’m from Calgary. About an hour’s drive from!

I was in Calgary at the end of March, on vacation. My friend, Michael, who I was staying with took me to Ranchmen’s my last night there and we had a BLAST!
Watch out for that “shooter wench”, she’s relentless!
Of course the fact that I was totall embarassed when she hopped up on the chair behind me to give me a shot was enough to make Michael buy me more! I think the guys were getting off on watching a woman take the shot from the shooter wench…but I could never say no to tequilla!

Keeping her away was easy. Oh she kept coming around to sell the things, and we always said “no”, but she persisted.

So I took out my camera and asked for a picture…she got all serious and said as she quickly ran off, “No…no pictures…”

Never saw her again.
