You’re certainly not listening to what’s being said to you, or at least your responses don’t reflect it. I’m not sure why the other posters in the thread continue to try to argue with you, because it’s a bit like trying to argue with a brick wall with embedded speakers playing a taped loop.
Yeh, what’s left to say? Waste of time engaging that idiot any further, was obviously a waste of time after its third or fourth response. I’d rather argue with the brick wall. At least you could take a tire iron to it when you got fed up.
I still haven’t figured this guy out. Is he a closet right winger taking pot shots at the Dems for not having fixed all the problems of the country in 5 days, or a left wing nut ball taking pot shots at the Dems because they haven’t deposed Bush et al yet, brought the troops home and make the country safe for our new socialist masters?
I have to agree with RT though…the guy seems immune to arguement and simply knows what he knows. I really liked how he deflected calls for cites of his position by asking those who requested said cites for cites of their own first.

As I said in the original thread, I think he’s a stealth right winger trying to smear the Dems for playing politics with the war. My evidence?
He made reference to the “stab in the back” explanation for losing Vietnam, which is usually a far-right meme.
He also at one point said to another poster "There you go again … " without apparent sarcasm. I can’t see a rabid left-winger quoting Reagan like that without doing it tongue in cheek.
Finally … I spend a lot of time on rabid left-wing political blogs and I’m not reading anything like this there. Mostly they’re pleased that the Democrats are in power and DOING SOMETHING in the first 100 hours. Even the rabid firebreathers all know that it’s going to be a long slog to force Bush to end the war.

I can’t find it because I don’t think there is a good search function, but a week or so ago, a troll showed up on the Think Progress board (one of many trolls) and had a style very much like harveyc: beating up Dems for slow action - a day or two after the Dems took power.
I suspect it’s the same person.
And then there’s the question, “does it matter?” He’s an embarrassment to whatever side of the political spectrum he’s on, if he’s on any - unless he’s part of the Stubborn Moron Party, in which case he should be Secretary for Redundancy.

In the very first post of the thread in question, he uses the term “Democrat Congress” (which is definitely a Republican-favored usage) twice. He’s no lefty…and that leaves the other option.

As Marley23 said earlier, it probably doesn’t matter…the guy is either a troll or he’s so dense and set in his own convictions that its pointless to debate with him, as he’s immune to arguement and just keeps saying the same things over and over again…just in new and uninteresting ways. He reminds me somewhat of Gonzomax, just with a better grasp or punctuation, spelling and without all the annoying drive by links. Same block headed immunity to arguement though, same annoying way of saying the same things over and over again, regardless of the points made by other posters.

Then again, with all the trolling lately, I’m pretty leery of such threads by guests.

How does this guy rate a pitting? His influence on the SDMB is practically nil.
