You used up all the glue on purpose!

I had never seen this movie, but prompted by this thread we watched it tonight. At one point (in a scene involving Santa Claus) I laughed so hard I induced a mild asthma attack.

How did I miss this?

]eanwhile, I struggled for exactly the right BB gun hint. It had to be firm, but subtle… “Flick says he saw some grizzly bears near Pulaski’s candy store!” They looked at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.

They traded Bullfrog! I don’t believe it!!

Notafingah!

We actually use this one pretty often here at home!

Old Man: I’m not colorblind

Mother (under her breath): I’m not colorblind either.

So, guess what I bought as a stocking stuffer for myself today?

At Walmart.
In Blue-ray.

It better damned well be good, or I’m coming after y’all.

With a BB gun!

Jinger berrs, jinger berrs, jinger arr da wayyy.

Better watch out. I saw some grizzly bears near WalMart.

One Christmas I got the barebones DVD. The very next year they came out with a 2 disc special edition. :smack:

Never really had much use for the DVD, as it is, I just leave the TV on TBS all day when it’s running. Sure, I have to deal with commercials then, but hey, that’s when I get to go to the bathroom.

I have since heard of people under extreme duress speaking in strange tongues. I became conscious that a steady torrent of obscenities and swearing of all kinds was pouring out of me as I screamed.

Update:

I watched it last night, and of course loved it.

It was very “Wonder Years” in its approach, which I didn’t expect.

Anyway, as a kid growing up in the 70s this story wasn’t too far from some of my own personal Christmases and school experiences.

It will be a Christmas staple here now.

Thank you. Merry Christmas.

We watched it last night. My husband noticed that after the Chinese chef/waiter chopped the head off the duck, he stuck the duck head in his pocket.

Now must rewatch!

My family watched it for the first time last night, too. I think I like it.

Glad to read you liked it. I wonder a bit when I read these threads if the film (or book or whatever) will live up to the hype for the uninitiated.

Yeah, well “The Princess Bride” was hugely disappointing after reading the many accolades here. But “A Christmas Story” is exactly my kind of movie.

Then again, so is “Airplane!”, “Fargo” and “Life of Brian.”

I guess I’m all over the map!

Yeah, I always felt that Wonder Years took a lot of its inspiration from A Christmas Story.

You WON’T believe this link!

~VOW

VOW, we have the night light. It’s cool. There’s real fringe on the lamp – I thought the fringe might be plastic but it’s not.

You can get a full size leg lamp with shade, shipped in a wooden carton marked “Fragile” for$488.99.

I guess if you were wealthy and had a friend who loved the movie it would be funny. I’d want to be there when he opens it.

I got Christmas Story boxer shorts for xmas this year, featuring the kid, the gun, and YOU’LL SHOOT YER EYE OUT KID!
