Declasse items you enjoy

Do they still make those straws that had the chocolate or strawberry flavor inside?
Those were great!

Heh, depends on the fast food for me. McDonald’s? Hell no. Hate their burgers, hate their fries, hate everything except the McFlurries.

Burger King, on the other hand? Hell yes! Gimme a double bacon cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake and I’m as happy as a clam. I even enjoy that the actual burger is squashed flat and mushy looking.

(I do not, however, enjoy the side ache that I get afterward, even when I’m NOT doing something physically strenuous. Hence why I don’t get Burger King very often.)

Another thing: I worked at Subway for about six months and hated every minute of it. You’d think I’d avoid the place like the plague until the day I died, right? Wrong. I keep going back for their tuna, and I like their pepper jack cheese. Is it a real deli? Not on your life. Does it satisfy when I need something quick? You bet.

Fried spam sandwiches! (Muito delicioso).
Slice spam thinly-about 1/4" is fine
-Place between two slices of Wonder Bread-no, stone ground wheat WON’T do-its GOTTA be Wonder bread
-Add a slice of orange american cheese (Government surplus is best)
Pin together with toothpicks
Dip in beaten egg
-Fry in 100% heart healthy butter
When cheese melts, take out, drain and enjoy!

That made me LOL…my bf used to drink that stuff all the time. I, however, was raised on classier beers, like Kingsbury and Blatz.

I love Totino’s pizza rolls, poptarts, and gas station “cappuccino”.
My kids would eat mac and cheese or ramen noodles every meal if I’d let them.

My first favorite sandwich is PB&J. I ate them nearly every day between 1959 and 1981. I still eat them on a regular basis, but now on rye bread with organic peanut butter. My second favorite sandwich was bologna with miracle whip on white bread, until that one evil day.

That day I made my bologna sandwich the same as always and was chowing down on it when I mentioned to my husband that it didn’t seem to taste as good as normal. He pointed out that the bread I was eating was green around the edges. I then noticed that the bologna was blue around the edges. GAH!!! I was eating green bread and blue bologna!!! I survived and have never eaten a bologna sandwich again.

PB&J you are still the love of my life. Oh and grilled cheese, mmmmmmmm cheddar on rye.

Beef jerky.

Pigs in Blankets.

My Dodge Dakota pickup with peeling/faded paint and slightly rusted trailer hitch.

Hormel Chili.

And some brand of Cream Chipped Beef in a frozen, microwave-able package.

Maple Syrup on Butter Pecan ice cream.

Raspberry jam on vanilla ice cream.

Uh-oh. Your beloved PB&J comes to me for love nearly every day at lunchtime.
I feel really cheap now.

Fish Sticks. Yum!

and Vienna Sausage!

Vintage jazz, car shows, air shows, donuts, fountain type drinks like malts and sodas.

Especially when you mix it with Velveeta to make a queso dip.

I have a weakness for The Price Is Right, various judge shows, and Eat ‘n’ Park (a local chain similar to Denny’s).

That’s a declasse list? Vintage jazz and fountain drinks?

NASCAR or any kind of racing really. I don’t consider F1 to have a more sophisticated crowd, no matter what they want you to think. I also plan to eat pizza from a gas station later. My stomach is already growling just thinking about it.

Pabst Blue Ribbon, Spaghetti-Os, fish sticks, the Buffalo Bills

Stouffer’s makes a turkey/mashed potatoes/stuffing/gravy frozen TV dinner that I honestly think I might never tire of eating.

I don’t care that the delicious, goopy gravy is exactly the same (visually - I’ve never taste-tested) as the goopy gravy in canned cat food that my cat finds so delicious. I don’t care that it’s a frozen tray in a box. All I care about is how wonderfully happy it makes my tummy.

**Spark240 **- I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like some hoity-toity fancy cat is trying to pretend to be all <British accent> declasse, darling </British acccent> just to try to fit in with the cool kids.

It’s ok, we have an open relationship:cool:

I scarfed down a 7-11’s hot-dog with maximum chilil and cheese the other day. It was divine.
