Deconstructing "I heart you" from an ex

VT day was Thursday. We had dinner on Saturday night. There was bear-hugging a mutual cheek pecks at both meeting and departing.

I think we’re both tired of the whole dating scene since we’ve both had some disappointing relationship attempts since we broke up (in 2001). I’m wondering if we’re looking at each other now and thinking about settling (eh that sounds bad), because we’re not getting any younger and both want to settle down.

Exploring an old flame might be the fast track to that end. Of course if this turns out to be real, we’ll need to talk about all the reasons for the last break up and ask ourselves if those things are still going to cause problems. But we really did have a lot of fun before, and it seems like we are all over again.

On Val’s Day, millions of people throw around hearts and I heart yous that aren’t entirely serious. On that day of the year, you have to take words of love with a grain of salt. If you get the same message the next day, it could be completely sincere. At least that’s the way it was when I actually existed.

Fun is good, if you believe Dr Seuss (I do). Did he mention the txt? Ask why oh why you didn’t send a heart back? If not, then it probably wasn’t anything more than a fun romantic guesture on a fun romatic day.
I hope you two continue having fun, however things work out in the relationship.

It was V-D and he wanted to get up in the guts. The end.
