…snitches another beer…
I still has a blurf at noon thirty.
2.5 hours and I can go home.
Wait, it’s grocery day.
4 hours and I can go home. Traffic on 26 is probably going to be stupid.
I don’t have pectin. Dammit. But I found the Sure-Jell recipe on line so I know how much chopped-up peaches I need. I’ll get that done, then buy the pectin tomorrow on the way home from breakfast.
We’ve ordered our pellets and they’ll be delivered some time in Aug or Sept. We need to clear space in the garage before then. Plus we’ve got someone coming to clean our pellet stove on Aug 15 - yay!! I’ve cleaned it the best I can in the past, but I want the pros to do it, because I’m sure I didn’t get into all the nooks.
There was rain here, but we missed it, since we went to lunch after procuring pellets. Glad I mowed when I did.
Rain and more rain but on the good side this dive diner we like was open today.
Its not nearly as fancy or decorated as when this was filmed. Not getting as much done today as I’ve hoped, but it’s not for lack of trying.
I can’t believe it’s almost 4 o’clock.
The sun came out for a bit but now it’s pouring down again. Thunder and lightening this time too.
Time for a little lunch and then back to irk.
Most of the peaches I bought earlier in the week got all moldy - I left them in the paper bag too long. Dammit. Three of them were mold-free, so there was that. I had to run down to the market and get some more - they weren’t as ripe, but they’ll work. So the peaches are all chopped and measured out for jammin’. The jars are in the dishwasher getting clean now.
Tomorrow, I’ll make the jam and do laundry. I think I’m done for today. Maybe. We shall see…
Wood pellet futures. Hmmm.
Today in Gilroy, which is just south of here, we have the Gilroy Garlic Festival. This means we have thousands of visitors streaming through town here to get there. One day I will go. It always sounds delicious.
Further south, in Big Sur, we have a giant (36,000 acres) wildfire. This means that we have haze and smoke in the air. It’s too bad, because it’s such beautiful country. I hope they get it under control soon.
The floors are almost finished over at the house. So close! They look great.
Work is over. Groceries have been acquired. Guinness has been opened. Thread has been caught up on. Desire to go across the border to SC to get some peaches has been awakened. I wonder if the roadside peach stands will be open tomorrow.
I only slept about 5 hours. Met hunky at the taco truck. Came home had lunch together he went back to itk and I finally got the beautiful china installed in my beautiful china cabinet. Did not break a single piece. My friend, Denise, who has just weeks if not days to live gave it to me and I am so proud of it now
When hunky got home from irk we went grocery shopping. Tahred. Going down fast.
All you praying people please put her on the prayers list at church. When I pray it’s four God to take her and relieve her suffering.
Nap time. Xoxo
Butters, I am sorry to hear about your friend. I don’t pray (Agnostic Areligionist), but I will think kind and bittersweet thoughts for her.
Went to Dick’s sporting goods today, had a 20% off coupon so I bought about $300 of soccer stuff for coaching. Probably won’t use half of it, but hey, it was there and my credit card was paid up, so…
Just finished my veggie meal for the week (a big bowl of lettuce/tomato and two ears of corn) and have only 170 pages left in my current reading matter (it’s 1,050 paperback pages) so I should finish it this weekend. I also have a good shot at 23% solution rate for 100 wins at 2-suit spider solitare, which is good for me.
Oh, and I decided to grow my beard back. Started yesterday, so it may take awhile, but the beard will be back.
And that’s about as exciting as it gets here.
Ogbligatroy durkene psot. But not really, cause I’m more buzzed than anything thanks to copious amounts of comestibles along with beerverages. A good time was had by all this afternoon. Good friends, good food, good drink. I am now all oficially celebrated re bday and retirement. Everyone has gone and we’re all showered and cleanded up. I foresee a possibly soonish bedtime.
Butters my prayers for your friend have been for a Holy and Peaceful death. Sounds a little morbid but here’s hopin’ her end of life is indeed peaceful and pain free. That was my prayer for JDD’s brother as his life ended as well. Hospice is a great service so rest assured those who are lookin’ after your friend are doing all they can to make her as comfortable as possible.
Just got an email regarding our camper. Maybe it’s sold… maybe…
Well, what do you expect? They don’t grow on trees. Or do they? Nevermind.
MOOOOOOM shall we cross appropriate/inappropriate appendages?
And on that note da bear is callin’ it a night. I’s tahrd and I am also the non cannibal kind of Lector at the nine a.m. Luterun service tomorrow.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
So from the first customer who was screaming for the cops because I wouldn’t refund a non refundable gift card, to the last lady who was screaming because the guy at the Western Union kiosk didn’t hang up and let her go first so she could get cash for liquor(and screaming because hubby wouldn’t take 3 small kids into the ABC store), one hell of a day. And in the recurring tech problems- they need to find a more technologically savvy group to run out IT department. Like the Amish.
[sub][sub]I love my job, I love my job, I love my…[/sub][/sub] Jesus, Buddha, and Dread Cthulhu, let me win this freaking lottery!
Butters, I’ll pray your friends suffering ends soon.
I’m nearing the point were I say we just summon forth the Old Ones and end it all. It’s gotta be easier.
I have gotten my days and nights mixed up. Can’t sleep at night anymore. This will wreck havoc on my work schedule. Why me?
Well, there you go.
Move over Alice, we have a winner.
I’m with you Butters.
I’d probably be a lot more fun if I was still in my 20s.
