**Capo di tutti Capo I**: (56 players) Three families versus the    town. The town manages to stomp out two of the mafia families and the    final family gets cornered. The Barzinis "escape"/surrender, town    victory.

**Capo di tutti Capi II:** (79 players) Town gets pasted pretty    hardcore by the five families. End result is a struggle between the    families. One of the townies who became a made gangster eventually    becomes the Godfather of the largest family and becomes the Capo di    Tutti Capi, mafia victory.

**Capo di tutti Capi III:** (76 players) Lots of death, but right off    the bat a lead develops on a scumbag and that Made gangster is   executed day one. Things don't slow down, as CIA agent Askthepizzaguy   outs one  of the Communist infiltrator cultists and declares his CIA   status. The  scumbags continue dropping like flies as lucky guesses,   good deductive  work, investigation results, and tied votes cause the   deaths of scumbag  after scumbag. CIA agent gets protection and the   scums can't hit Pizza.  Game lasts for months but finally the scums are   whittled down to just a  handful. A bloodbath of murders doesn't deter   the town who successfully  retain their protective roles and ward off   the hits. Final godfather is  all set for lynch, but surrenders, just as   the Communist cult is  destroyed by the CIA and his rivals the FBI.   Town/CIA victory.

I don’t mean to harp on someone who’s almost certainly confirmed Town, but it kinda bugs me that our town doc, Inner Stickler, didn’t participate at all yesterDay except for two posts right after pizza’s death saying that he (IS) had been blocked. That was back on August 19th. No vote at all this round.

But he’s been participating aplenty in the other shiny new mafia game, posting like 15 times in the past week or so. He was active in that thread yesterday too, he certainly could have voted here if he’d wanted.

C’mon dude. Your town needs you! Why did you choose not to vote this round? Heck, I don’t care if you’d voted for me again, if you’d felt it in the best interests of Town. So what’s the dealio?

0Edited to add: Oops was writing this as Normal posted thrice. I’ll get your answers in a bit, Normal. I already posted my comments on most of 'em, but since Hirka’s flipped town, I need to reassess.

I can’t believe this is a single-day Night. There’s not enough time. Gah!

Initial thoughts from that day’s voting:
– still looks bad for MG.
– Weedy looks worse than I remember: bit of a disconnect between her stated reason for voting Shadow (his action against Pizza) and her earlier confusion on that point (asked me why it was even scummy). Desperately needs more context, though.
– gnarly looks ‘eh’
– Diver and choie both look better (Diver reaction at start of day looked genuine – but see comment from SP later about why no double vote?) and choie’s vote tied it or put Red ahead (again with no double vote, though). I find it hard to believe that NO scum would have voted for Skeezix that day, but still, these are hardly points against either of them. Needs more.

Both Diver and choie quickly erase the good impression of them by turning up shortly after the deadline, here and here to comment on the day kill and apologize for forgetting the moved deadline (and gloat at SF voters and promise to vote Red tomorrow), respectively.

Interesting is that I had the order of comments confused, after Red did his remorseful vig thing. Inner was the first to comment, and while he gave some credence to Red he did not change his vote. Hirka voted choie. And then gnarly came along with his two. So while I still have a great deal of resistance to the idea that this was designed at all to try to save Red, it’s not quite as far-fetched as I thought that gnarly might have bit. He did have some townie (and presumably townie) cover there. I should add I’m still really lacking that scum vibe from him, I suppose.

2386 – Weedy says all the right things including a point about pedescribe that I hadn’t thought of.

No idea what to think of choie’s unvote and offer of self-vote in 2389.

2394 MG corrects a misunderstanding about what Red was saying AND votes for him. Not helping.

I think there’s only 90 minutes left in the day, and I’m really not very happy that none of the five people in most question have wanted to weigh in. I guess you’ll all be alive tomorrow to talk about it; I’m not entirely sure that I will be.

I have yet to find anything that feels explicitly scummy about gnarly, and not much about Weedy. Either or both could still be scum. choie I’m back to very uncertain on; Diver I think is feeling slightly more townie than previously – maybe drop him into a tie with Weedy. I’m still most comfortable with lynchign Mental Guy next.

Alas, 'twas that most vile of beasts, “work,” which hath delayed and vexed me so.
A terrible storm hit De’endee overnight. Wind cried while lightning screamed. After a few hours, the storm withdrew, leaving only silence.

What remained of the adventurers and townpeople stood in front of pedescribe’s house. Well, the ruins of it, anyway.

“Geez. Reckon that there’s an act of the gods.”

Lightning had crashed into the house repeatedly overnight, leaving little but smoldering wreckage. A few fires still gamely puffed away at stray bits of wood. Pedescribe’s body had liquefied from the heat, leaving a gleaming skeleton behind.

Pedescribe, a druid survivor, has been killed. Pedescribe wanted only to be left alone, and was not a part of either the Defenders of De’endee or the Lords of Slaughter. While his druid skills made him an avid outdoorsman, his years of intense paranoia had twisted his psyche. You find evidence of deadly traps and decoys littered amongst the remains of his house.

“Okay, people, quick headcount. I want to make sure Pedescribe’s the only one dead tonight.” The mayor of De’endee said.

“We missin’ anybody?”

The mayor’s eyes quickly flicked between each person. As he counted the last in the group, his shoulders slumped.

“Normal Phase.” He whispered.

Normal Phase, an NPC Shaman and one of the Defenders of De’endee, has been killed. After a quick search, you recover her body. Written in blood around her are two letters, repeated over and over again: H, and A. It is now Day, which will last until August 28th at 5 pm central time.

(I want to make this abundantly clear: there was no additional kill last night. Pedescribe’s death is a modkill for refusing to play the game. He quit weeks ago, and I’ve been debating modkilling him for a while now. Just wanted you guys to know that my direct intervention in this game was not done lightly.)

Sigh. Damn those Lords all to hell. I really thought they’d go after Inner, but obviously Normal was too useful and smart to let live. Plus, Inner seems to have removed himself to more Mysterious climes.

Normal I know you had issues with my gameplay and my overall trustworthiness, but hopefully if you visit the spoiler board you’ll see that we were working for the same goals. Though I hope to avenge your death, I fear I’m ill-equipped to go against the Lords as only a rookie.

I’m sorry I couldn’t get back earlier today; work prevented me from returning. I know that seems convenient to the rest of the living, but it’s very much the opposite – hella inconvenient. I’d have liked another shot to get Normal’s trust.

The scary thing that now I am the most vocal person left. You smarter townies had better step up. Otherwise you’re left with the equivalent of Audrey Hepburn in “Wait Until Dark” to save the day, and that’s not a very encouraging proposition.

  • Very odd that only Hirka and I used our double-votes. EDITED TO ADD: Sorry, I was wrong – also USCDiver and gnarlycharlie voted twice, they just split their votes.

I did so because I felt pizza’s ghost was looking over my shoulder, goading me to do so. God knows it wasn’t 'cause poor Hirka needed the extra push off the cliff. :frowning: Meanwhile, Hirka was clearly extra suspicious of USCDiver. (Which doesn’t mean much to me, since s/he was also doubly suspicious of me the Day before.)

Anyway, I’d like to know from the rest of the living who only placed one vote: why? Why was there so little willingness to place votes, when most of you have been fine with double-voting throughout the rest of the game? Weedy? MentalGuy? Stanislaus? Normal? Oh – sob – no. There is no more Normality anymore. :frowning:

  • I don’t know why, but for some reason, gnarlycharlie is pinging me less. I need to go back to his posts from the past Day and see why my scumometer isn’t ringing as loudly as it was before.

  • MentalGuy… I know Normal most wanted him dead. And now that we know Hirka is town, his votes are looking less kosher to me. That said, my confidence is shaken after the Hirka vote and I’m back to questioning almost every instinct I had. Need help. Need to look very carefully at him and everyone again. (Duh, that’s kinda obvious, isn’t it?)

  • No offense to the dead intended, but I’m erasing everything pizza ever said that’s been imprinted in my brain. Sorry, ZombiePizza, but your cred is shot with me. Just about everyone he pushed for, minus septimus, was town. The only thing I’ll give him is more suspicion on Diver, and that’s just 'cause Hirka and Normal both found him hinky at various points too.

  • Where the HELL was Inner Stickler’s vote?

  • Speaking of our town doc, where was he when he should have been saving Normal? I suppose he was allegedly blocked again. Couldn’t be arsed to vote or even participate in discussion yesterDay, and now this. Am I crazy? Is it at all possible that we’re all wrong about him? Could that “you see him cast a helpful spell” have meant something other than what we think it does?

  • My homework tonight: I’m going to compile a list of every surviving player and their votes/unvotes. Similar to my earlier chart but not just including the final votes.
