Defacing Beautiful Bodies With Tattoos.

This subject is so played out I thought this was a set up for some kind of joke or something.

On the other hand, I’ll probably never stop griping about people and their atrocious cell phone habits so I guess everyone has a little patch of lawn they’d like everyone to get off of :stuck_out_tongue:

The first thing I did was check to see if this was a zombie thread. I was surprised to see that it wasn’t.

Why? Are people going to forget who Mickey Mouse is in fifteen years?

People can do what they want with their bodies, no doubt about that.

I still get to have the opinion that there has never been a human body improved by the addition of a tattoo.

You sure do. And I still get to have the opinion that nobody gives a fuck about your opinion.

You can’t possibly know that.

Right. That’s why it’s my opinion.

I don’t think you can have an opinion about that, it seems a very poor choice of word for you. Perhaps you meant that you have a “belief” that nobody gives a fuck about my opinion, that would make sense, but can you have an “opinion” about something so factual? Sounds like something your president would say to be honest, but hey, maybe I’m wrong.

Anyway, my opinion on the subjective matter of tattoos remains the same.

While I agree with you for the most part, it’s none of my business what other people choose to do with their bodies that doesn’t directly involve me.

If a woman I know tries a new hairstyle, and I think it’s not nearly as nice as the old one, am I going to let her know I think that? Not unless she really wants my honest opinion. Same way with people with tattoos: if I think they’d look better without them, I’m not going to give them a hint that I’m thinking that if I can help it, which I certainly can. Doing so would be rude, and would not improve their day or my own.

:+1::+1:

Why do men obstruct their faces with nasty soup-holding beards and mustaches? Can you believe some women have the nerve to wear dresses/pants/skirts/leggings whenever I think they should wear something else? Who do these people who shave their heads when they have a receding hairline think they are? And those other people who have hair lazered off? And geez those people who let ALL their hair grow EVERYWHERE! What nerve! I’m so offended by all of these people who do things I don’t find attractive!!!

.

I think you’re being pedantic.

The only reason I don’t have a tatoo is 'cause I donate blood. Otherwise, I’d have this done, so at least some part of my physicality reflected my heritage.

Speaking only for myself, I am no more offended by tattoos than I would be if I saw a guy walking around in nothing but blue paint and a sock over his cock. I wouldn’t be offended, I would just think he looked silly, thats all.

I doubt many people are offended by tattoos. They just have an opinion on them.

So you did mean “belief” after all, I thought that might be it. Glad you could clear that up for me.

Do you know what a synonym is?

I’m here to emphatically state that I have absolutely no opinion whatsoever on this subject. And I fail to see why I need to.

I can find out for you if you want but really you should be doing your own homework.

  1. Beauty is subjective.
  2. Beauty isn’t everything.

When I was 19, I decided I was going to cut off all of my hair. I’m 100% sure that at least one person believed I went from “beautiful” to “ugly” with that single decision. They are entitled to that opinion, but obviously I didn’t and still don’t give a rat’s ass. I only have one chance to live on this planet, as far as I know, so I believe it makes sense to cater to my own desires first and foremost–not the desires of some random person I probably wouldn’t even like if I knew them.

I’m guessing tattoo-wearers feel the same way.

And I’m guessing John Wall isn’t a wasting a minute wondering what exactly he is missing out on by not conforming to Jim B.'s personal tastes. Do you really think your life is objectively better than his?

So no then.
