Define "Stocky"

A lot of men these days are using the phrase Stocky to describe themselves.

Those I’ve seen (at least to me) are not stocky they are fat.

My definition of stocky is someone like Sergent Carter of the old Gomer Pyle show.

I think of Bruce Willis also as stocky

They sat George on Seinfeld was stocky. To me he’s fat.

I think of stocky as being muscular yet fat.(usually in the gut)

What is a stocky build

Men say they are stocky because they don’t want to describe themselves as fat.

Cartman: “I’m not fat, I’m just big boned!”

Well, I’ve had people say that I’m “Stocky”, but definitively “not fat”. 5’6", 170lbs, and I’ve got a lot of muscle (especially lower body), but from what everyone tells me, I’m not fat. So, yeah, I’m stocky . . .

Tripler
But I still think I’ve got some fat.

Stocky is larger of build but has more muscle than fat. I like to think of myself as stocky but i am proably fatter than i like to think.

Can I be svelte? If other guys get to start being things other than small, medium, large, and husky. Then I demand to be svelte.

I’m still not positive on the definition of “svelte” tho’. I always thought it meant a very tall, slightly muscular, but lean form.

If that’s true then at 6’5" 215, I think I fit the bill.

How about “big ole hunk o’ man-meat”?

…and I’m glad I live in the southwest. Here’ if you’re taller than everage, you get called “slim”. Not all the time, but often enough. I like it!

I don’t describe myself as “husky” or “stocky”. I prefer to refer to myself as (accurately enough) heavy. Referring to my old pictures, I see I used to be rather stocky. However, time (and an automobile accident) has made exercise an unpleasant activity. Walking works, but between a bad knee, different length (~1/2" difference) legs, and a bad shoulder, I prefer to carry my weight well. (It’s my weight, so I might as well carry it.)
