Deja Vu: A Frosh TMP

Mmmmm, sounds yummy. I’ve added it to the blog.

I’m uninspired. But I’ve had some quesadillas and am contemplating a beerverage to celebrate the fact that it’s FIRDAY!!!

GT

Doing one last check-in before the Big Walk For Boobies. I’m officially registrationated, signed all appropriate liability waivers confirming I’m a big kid and won’t sue if I get a blister, and have my ID badge to prove that I’m ready to go. Everything is packed up and ready to go next to the front door, so that tomorrow I can wake up at 6am, call for a cab, crawl into some clothes and arrive in time for opening ceremonies at 6:30am.

Oy. Have I mentioned I am soooo NOT a morning person? :stuck_out_tongue:

Good wishes for all in Hannah’s path. I’ll be thinking dry thoughts of you all weekend long.

I shall return on Sunday afternoon-ish, assuming I’m not completely broken. Have a good weekend everyone!

Death chicken sounds nummy rigs. Is it as good if you make it when nobody’s dead? I agree about post-funeral food. I’ve never been to a post-funeral lunch that wasn’t yummy. Down south there must be ham, fried chicken, N.O.T. salad and cake. Other stuff is fine too but it ain’t a post-funeral lunch without those four things. Oh and sweet tea and soft drinks. Not havin’ those four things would be like not havin’ cheese straws at a weddin’ reception. It just ain’t done!

Oh and…

RIGS! THANKS FOR THE DEATH CHICKEN RECIPE!!!

Whew - just got on line. We went directly from work to the boat to add some lines and secure all we could. It started raining while we were there, and I got a huge splinter which bled like crazy when I yonked it out. Then we came home, changed, and took the kids out for a birthday dinner. Today is daughter’s b-day, and SIL’s is on the 15th, so we went to the Japanese Steak House for a nummerrific feast. Now we’re home and stuffed.

I can’t figure out what the deal with the Mumpers social group is - I tried to send an invite to **Taters **and it said I couldn’t. I tried to post a message, but it wouldn’t let me. I don’t get it.

Now I’m going to get caught up. MWAH!

Social groups is disabled until some rules can be figured out according to Skip. Oh wait… gt said that earlier. Sorry for the repeat.

Happy Birthday FairyChatDaughter!!!

Everybody in the line of fire of Hannah stay safe.

Ok, I’s sleepified so Ima go beddybye.

GOOD NIGHT Y’ALL!!!

What fresh hell is this? There are social clubs now here? WTH? Another way for me to feel like a loser in simple steps (kids, try this at home!). Gah…
methinks Swampus has lost his hearing aid. I am reading a very, very good book entitled, * Better* by Indian doctor dude whose name I don’t remember and couldn’t spell anyway. It’s fantastic–if you have any medical training or interest in health care and its reform (he does not posit any specific reforms, btw) read it.

Off to bed. Running in the morning!

OK, caught up, tired, going to bed. See ya in the mornin’…

With luck, we’ll just get a little wind and rain from Hanna. Hope so - if we lose power, we lose water, and everything. But the top winds forecast won’t be over 35 or so - that’s not too bad.

So, good night to you all. Hugs, kisses, gropes to all!

Home again. Hanna will brush around here about the time my truck gets here. Joy. Thrak the Uninstaller yanked the DSL filter off the wall, and was gnawing on it.

gotti, that’s how wounds work. The less deadly, the more painful. Therefore beheading is painless, but a papercut is the worst thing on Earth.

Vendor needs to cough up free non-moldy food, Shadow. I hope your friend’s BiL and Sam get out OK.

Smartie, don’t you hate when your pets do that. You should feign death one morning, just to get back at Himself.

Lunch, I too am being shunned.

Hey swampy! Has BBBobbio given you an update on his status yet?

 I just got groped by MMMooooommmmm!! I think I might have a complex now.

who’s shunning who? we’re all in this thing together. Like the stateroom scene in Night at the Opera.

At least you’re a guy!

Everybody stay safe from hurricanes, ok?

All we’re getting is a slight reduction in humidity, which is a nice bonus.

I took my BFF at work, the short timer, to lunch today - at the awesome Chinese bistro place. It was very good. I waited until she left her desk, then I left a small gift bag with a card and a little magnet that said, “Happiness is a friend like you.” <gag from sweetness> She liked it! She hugged me. Ima gonna miss her…

I made some chicken/andouille/shrimp gumbo for dinner tonight. Much was scarfed.

Tomorrow I’ma take the dogs to the park, but I’m gonna remember to take the camera and show y’all how damn cute my pups are…

G’night!

According to the radar, I should be getting some Hanna any minute.

Social clubs are closed for the moment, rigs, so I guess we’ll just have to hang out in the MMP.

I know there was a link to bacon chocolate a ways back, but did we discover thisalready? Just verifying.

ETA: Once more, everyone stay safely out of Hanna’s way.

GT

Use a condom.

Oh, you meant the storm, didn’t you? Either way, stay safe.

That was it?!!

How disappointing.

:dragging out the ropes and whips to show Lunch a real flirty remark:

(or was that just a skin mark :dubious:)

I’d love to try that, doggio, but I’d have to get up and pee long before Himself ever stirred an eye open… I’m no good at feigning either death or sleep, I’m afraid. It might be possible to give a good scare involving a nonexistent car crash, though.

I shall have to cogitate on this!

Would it work to ask very, very nicely for people to stop shouting? I’ve had this intermittent migraine for days now and that’s really not helping–the contrast on the LCD screen is excruciating. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow…

I’m going to bed, my future DIL’s mom is in town and she’s coming over for lunch tomorrow, which means I need to get up early and do some grocery shopping, yay! I don’t mind, though, she’s a real sweetheart and I like chatting with her. In fact, I might just tell the kids to go home and us old ladies will blather on for a while unfettered by younguns. Younguns who’re likely to be hung over tomorrow, since both the bachelor and -ette parties are going on tonight. My daughter is miffed since she’s obligated to go to the girl party but she really likes the boys better and wants to go to their shindig. I know how she feels, especially since the girls are going to Darcelle’s, which is a well known local tranny show. I suggested Vista Point, which has nekkid girl dancers on the first floor and nekkid boy dancers on the second floor, kind of a one stop shop for depravity, but I guess that’s just not done… Kids these days! So boring…

G’night, y’all…

According to the google ads, Jesus wants to forgive us. What were y’all doin’ while I was asleep! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! No yellin’ today, I promise. I’m up and caffienatin’. I’m also hongry but I’m bein’ nice for a little while longer so ol’ y’all know who can sleep a little longer. Ima make pancakes and sausages for brekkies. One cannot remain asleep while such stuff is cookin’.

BBBobbio is supposed to call me at some point this mornin’. He had ambulance duty last night. Here’s hopin’ it was an uneventful night. On the plus side Hannah is not a hurricane. However, a tropical storm is nuttin’ to be casual about, so stay safe everybody!

Mornin’…Boston isn’t supposed to get Hanna-ified until tonight/tomorrow morning, but we’ve got rain now anyway. Crap! I had plans for today that did not involve rain.

Oh, and wish my mom and aunt well. They left this morning to drive here from Illinois. Hopefully they can avoid crossing paths with Hanna, but I’m none too confident.

Hmmm…to go to yoga or not to go to yoga. I have an hour to decide.

Best wishes to all of you dealing with Hanna now!! Hopefully Swampy will hear from Bobbio soon.

Checking in with y’all. Hanna is pretty much a fizzle. Had one call early, and nothing else so far.

I was conned into a double shift, too.

Toodles

This has got to be the most perfect description of the MMP that I’ve ever seen. Gold star for rosie! *

I actually sorta slept in today. I did wake up early, and I turned on the TV to see what Hanna was up to, but I dozed off till nearly 7, so yay! When I let the doggies out, it was raining, but Bernie still had to go walkabout. I couldn’t chase her because I was in my robe with no footwear. I figured in the rain, she’d run out and pee, then come in. Silly me. But she didn’t stay out long, and SIL found her in the garage when he went to get an umbrella. So I toweled her off and she’s crashed on the floor behind me, and SIL is off to work.

Daughter had a better day at school yesterday. She found out that part of the reason she’s having control issues in her class is that last year’s first grade teachers were uber-casual about class behavior plus she wound up with the lion’s share of the exuberant kids. But she’s getting lots of help from other teachers and she’s figuring out things that work.

Daughter’s camp counselor friend is coming to spend a week or so with us starting this evening, provided Hanna doesn’t affect Greyhound’s schedule from FL. Yeah, right. And I’ll be taking Firday off because I’m doing a craft show on Sat, weather permitting - I need the day to load the van and organize my inventory. It should be an interesting week.

I’ve been corresponding with a young woman in Baltimore who has a pottery wheel for sale. I was thinking about getting a second one and eventually teaching. The one she has sounds like a deal, but Baltimore is a long drive and I had no plans to get there till October. Maybe she’s desperate enough to drop her price some to make it worth my while… we shall see.

Today we’ll finish mudding the drywall and touching up previously mudded areas. I hope. We also need to go buy one more tub of mud and one more can of paint. Maybe we’ll start the day by shopping. **FCD **is watching TV in bed right now and daughter is sleeping. Rain has stopped, but more is on the way. Our biggest storm concern is the tidal surge and its effect on our boat. We’ll see how that goes.

Happy Saturday, all!

Good Morning, everyone!

I’m having one of those read everything but forgot what I wanted to say moments. Oh well.

Not too much going on here today in TVLand. TVMan made us some pillsbury cinnamon rolls for breakfast which was sweet and now I’m just sitting here catching up on the Dope.

Hugs to all!!!

Up, caffeinated, and being rained on. Crabtree creek might flood today(no big suprise). Enjoy your Saturday.
