Deja Vu: A Frosh TMP

I just got off the phone with BBBobbio. He says Hannah went west of him and what they’re gettin’ is lots of rain. I see he posted to say he got conned into a double shift. Now, I’m concerned for MOOOOOOM, BioTigs, Herbs and others who live around the Maryland/DC area. The storm is more toward I95 so y’all might get more than y’all thought. Stay safe!

Hi Roo! I’ve missed you around here! I’d flirt with you unabashedly, but I’m not good at that…

Just getting up- must get moving…

Awake. Almost ready to resume painting. Crackers, cheese and a banana for breakfast.

Glad things have been quiet, Bobbio. Hope she stays away from everyone else.

Nice to hear that the teaching is getting better, FCM. Sounds like a great learning experience for her, though. If she can learn effective ways to get a class under control early on, she’ll feel confident really quickly. Ahh, the fun of being a beginning teacher.

Mmmmm, cinnamon rolls.

::remembers to wave at Roo::

Hugs…

GT

It’s nice and cool here today, around 68° and low humidity! I have the back door open. In a bit, the idjits and I are going to the dog park.

I’m eating leftover sketties for breakfast…

Y’all stay safe!

golly.
Hanna came a knockin’ last night. The rain started about 10 ish and it sounded heavy. Then, around 3am, much to the consternation of the sleeping kitteh on my chest, the thunder started. Now it’s just overcast and humid.

According to the google ads, Jesus was tortured, Jesus wants to forgive you and there’s one rule to a flat stomach. [Sings] One of these things is not like the others![/sing]

I’s full! I made pancakes and sausages. URP! In a bit I need to purtify up a bit and we’re goin’ to the pool. We may or may not have a couple friends comin’ over. I ain’t plannin’ anything, so if they show up it’ll be just hangin’ out. Plus they’ll need to bring their beverages of choice. I did make that known.

Well, that forgiveness thing is right out.

I’m back from running and feel great, except for that pesky left foot of mine. Could we just cut it off? They make really cool prostheses now…

Glad to find out Hannah (must put H… cannot not put H on end) was not much. Now, if only Ike and Josephine could cooperate. I guess the drought is over for that area, eh? Gorgeous day here–sunny and cool. My asters are starting to bloom.

Good morning! I’m up and have both caffeinated & brekkied. My paper never arrived this morning, though. :frowning: I’ve already gone online and reported it, though, so hopefully I’ll have a replacement in a bit.

Hanna arrived here last night as well–we’ve had lots of rain. It let up for a bit earlier, but it is back in full force now, and will continue to get heavier during the day. I know we need the rain, but not this much, all at once! I just hope that my patio doesn’t get flooded; there’ve been a couple of times when the water has lapped at my patio doors. I too am worried more about Ike and Josephine, though. Ye gods!

I don’t have any plans for today, fortunately; my daughter and I did a bit of shopping yesterday afternoon. I don’t know what was going on, but at the two grocery stores we went to, there were -no- carts. laughs It was like aliens had swooped down and beamed them all up! I’ve got plenty of books to read, though, and as long as the cable is on, there’s always TCM.

My brother in CA (Walnut Creek) sent an email about the 4.0 quake out there last night. Apparently, it felt like a very sharp jolt to him; he wasn’t too far from the epicenter and it was a shallow quake (guess that affects the sharpness as well). He’s lived out there for over 30 years … so -now- he’s worrying about the quakes?! Ah well, hope all is well out there, and stays well.

Not much going on here. Lots of leaves, pine needles and small branches on the ground. Kinda wet. Still rainy and windy.

I’m going to kill Stormydog. That is my goal for today. So far he has already:

  1. Knocked over the outside trash can, ripped open a plastic bag and ate the bones inside.
  2. Tore up Peter’s last toy mouse.
  3. Ate out of Peter’s bowl.
  4. Last night he pooped outside of my bedroom door.

I’m gonna throw him outside and let the winds carry him away if he doesn’t knock it off.

swampy, when were you going to tell us about your side job with the DEA?

I especially love the caption on the photo

Got off work last night at 9, had to be here at 8 today. Not enough sleep. Thankfully, enough coffee. Eventually. I’m still consuming it. We actually have pretty good coffee here, and I think they made it a bit extra strong this morning. Yay for the front desk! I wouldn’t need it except that I found I had just enough at home to get me awake enough to drive up here. I have to stop on my way home and get more or I will really regret it.

I didn’t realize until yesterday that the various DC-ish area people were going to get hit by Hanna. Now I feel like a bad daughter! I’m going to call MamaTigs in an hour when a couple of other people come in so that I’m not the only one here to answer any incoming calls.

Hi, everyone!

It’s raining, I’m doing stuff, and I hope it clears up later because of the Breast Cancer Walk. IT’s supposed to be nice this afternoon.

Back to dishes and tidying.

UK Metro has the best photo captions.

Oh like I’d let y’all know where my stash is!

Hee.

I hate caulking.

And to think, I missed them the first time and had to go back to see what they were. :smack::stuck_out_tongue:

Heh. I just almost asked someone on Facebook (not a Doper) for a Cite.

snowbunny, you can prove you’re a good daughter by not only calling me, but by measuring your foot.

We started getting Hanna rain last night, too. It was fairly light through the evening, but by this morning it was pouring. Fortunately, the storm is moving fast enough that it probably won’t be too bad for anybody. Strangely, although we had (only) one big rumble of thunder earlier this morning that Rusty freaked out over briefly, he just totally freaked a few minutes ago for no apparent reason whatsoever, went diving under Papa Tigs’ desk and, in a move worthy of Thrak the Uninstaller, ripped all his computer/TiVo connections all to hell. Papa Tigs was not pleased, needless to say. We will be getting more wind & rain this afternoon, but compared to some storms we went through in New Orleans, this is Not Much. To put it mildly.

And speaking of TiVo, our FIOS just went all digital to the point where we can no longer use both servers on our TiVo to record one channel while watching another, so Papa Tigs got pissed off enough he called Verizon and negotiated a package deal with them to get us one of their new accessible-from-every-settop-box-DVRs plus doubling our internet speed to 10 gigs from 5, all for less money than we’re paying now. He claims the 10 will still feel slow to him compared to their 100 gig ethernet at work, but I just sneer at him and ignore him. So I will soon be able to watch shows I record on the DVR when I want to in my office or in the bedroom and not have to wait till he’s not around since whenever he’s home, he controls the living room TV where the TiVo has lived. I am not complaining.

Back to listening to the rain. I really enjoyed lying in bed this morning hearing the rain; usually I have to get up and attend to Rusty, the moron. So today was a lovely luxury. Which I shall continue now that I’m up, although I can’t hear the rain as well here in my office, alas.

Well, they are godless killing machines.

Off to #2 son’s soccer soon. I need lunch. Hmmm…

Good morning everyone. Up and caffienating. We had a very nice time at our friend’s place last night and got to say good-bye to the friend’s girlfriend’s family. They’re heading back to Germany on Wednesday.

There was lots of food, plenty of drinks, and lots and lots of talking and laughing. I’m going to miss those people.

My daughter’s boyfriend drove down from Newcastle to join us. He moved up here from Missouri and arrived last Monday. He’s been settling into his new place and working. He was lucky and received a transfer within his company to come up here.

Oy vay! I’m sooooooo tired, but I can’t sleep.

All of you in Hanna’s path stay safe.

**Shadow, **sending good luck vibes to your friend’s BIL. That sounds very scary.
