The I stayed up until midnight just to post this MMP

Yes, yes I did stay up until midnight EST

because I know some of you are waiting… just waiting, for me to post the first post of the week

What would happen if one of you got up earlier than I did and
there was no MMP to post in?

So I’m starting this at 11:55 and we’ll see what time I actually post it
because I probably will get distracted and have to come back and finish it
or hit the wrong key and it will go POOF! and I’ll have to start over.

So it’s a nice 66 degrees outside, and dark because it’s 11:57pm. The projected high for today is 84.
I promise though, I won’t hit submit until after midnight. I’m going to open my window before I go to sleep, it’s cooler outside than it is inside.

School starts today in our area, so marks the end of summer.
Kind of sucks that school starts before Labor Day.

So today my mother and her bf come back from vacation
All I have plans for is to irk and go to Best Buy which I should have done a while ago when my phone was acting up. It straightened up but now it’s worse. I had to turn if off and leave it plugged in for 12 hours and it only made it to 53% charged.
Tonight it was 98% charged and it has been slowing going down to now 78% charged. I don’t want a new phone, I want this one to charge.

Oh it is after midnight now
so
Happy Moonday! everyone
and happy posting

I’m going to bed!

Yay, new week!! The last one was really sucking. Hopefully this one will be better.

Also: FIRST

Hubby’s coming home tomorrow! Well, today, for those whose clocks have passed the witching hour. It’s only 9:30 on Sunday evening here.
He was originally hoping for more OT hours, but, as Dorothy said to Glinda, There’s no placew like home!

I’m up late because I was out at a concert. And yes, I do have school tomorrow - oops, I mean today. I should brush my teeth and go to bed.

Seeya on the other side.

Off to bed I go… See y’all in a few hours!

Shoot, you Dopers in the Eastern time zone have an advantage!

I need to get to work so I can get some coffee. Yawn. Is the bear up yet?

{{{Sario}}} I hope your week is much better.

I’m up and showered and biding my time until it’s not way too early to eat breakfast. I’m feeling better today, thankfully. School today and then probably just resting tonight depending on how I feel. Tomorrow night I start my University class (BOO!) and they actually changed the schedule. It used to be one night per week and now it’s two. I’m hoping that somehow the professor will decide to alter that and make it optional or something. I mean, five days a week of student teaching and then 2 1/2 hours two nights a week to talk about it??

Ok, enough complaining.

Happy Monday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a rather pleasant 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 for the day and dry. It was interestin’ to walk outside and feel just a little nip in the air.

Good job startin’ us off sair. You get a gold star. *****

rio hope you get the car stuff all straightened out soonest. Also hope your hand and foot are all better soon.

I’m up Death Mistress!

picu yay for hubby comin’ home!

StickyBuns I’d think one night a week is enough to talk about student teachin’. Here’s hopin’ the professor will alter the schedule.

Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, 'tis Moanday so irk purtification must commence.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Morning? It’s almost afternoon here! I was up surprisingly early considering the amount of wine I got through last night. I’ve got a list of stuff to get done that I’m working through, I have to go out soon to get my spare watch fixed (it needs a new battery) because I took my other watch off while I was at my friend’s house yesterday helping her paint her living room, and I forgot to put it back on when I left.

I’ve already had breakfast, done half an hour on the wii machine, written a bunch of birthday cards ready to post tomorrow, got a load of laundry on and done the ironing left from the last lot. I have got a few electrical things to charge up today and then later I can start packing.

Good job it’s a public holiday over here, I am far too busy to go to work!

On the bus to my first day of school…

Blurf.

Happy Moanday. Another day, another boot to the head.

Despite an idiot cat waking me several times over night, I slept in till almost 6:30!!! I may as well enjoy it because next week, I’ll be starting work at 6:30. My choice - I like earlier start times. Core hours are 9-3, so as long as I cover those, the extra hours on either side are up to me.

It’s a non-crabber day. I’ll be doing a load or two of laundry, then running to the grocery store to restock the pantry. I might pull some weeds also - depends on how motivated I get. And how hot it gets. It’s low 60s right now and really lovely! But I think it’s supposed to warm enough that I’ll have to close the house again. But with September on the doorstep, coolness will be in residence soon enough. Yay!

**Rio **- that really sucks about the car. I hope you can resolve it quickly and satisfactorily.

**sari **- when you mentioned opening your windows, it reminded me of one of the women I was talking to at the Harley event on Saturday. I’d said something to her about loving the cooler weather and sleeping with the windows open. She said she never does. Her philosophy (and this is a quote) is “locked, lit, and loaded” and by loaded, I don’t think she meant drunk. Now, I don’t know what her neighborhood is like, but I can’t imagine feeling like I have to seal myself inside, armed against potential intruders.

Maybe it’s because we live in a safe neighborhood - the kind where FedEx and UPS just leave stuff on the porch - but I don’t generally worry about someone breaking in. I *can *secure the windows so they’re open but can’t open any farther, but I rarely do that. We don’t have an alarm system or motion-sensor outdoor lighting like some of our friends and relatives.

Well, we have an alarm system of sorts - if anyone tried to enter the house, Ziva would bolt to hide under my corner of the bed. When **FCD **is away and I hear noises in the house, if the dog’s not barking and the cat’s not hiding, I just go back to sleep.

I’m not reckless. I won’t walk around parking lots with hundred dollar bills hanging out of my pockets, but I’m not going to turn my house into a sealed fortress out of paranoia. If I had that much fear in my own home, I’d be doing whatever I had to do to move. But each to his own, I suppose…

And with that, I think I need to toss a load of dirties into the washer.

Happy Moanday, all!!

Morning all,

I have a serious case of the Moandays and a very large blurf!

Got some rather depressing news yesterday. My step-mother-in-law (my husband’s father’s wife (not his mother)) is dying of cancer and is in hospice. She had been in remission for the past couple of years then it came back and apparently with a vengence. She stopped work on the 8th of this month went in for a chemo round on the 9th and was admitted back to the hospital on the 10th. She has declined rapidly and they are saying it is a matter of days. She will leave behind a 22 year old daughter and of course her husband. I only met her twice, when she came down for my wedding and then when we visited for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago, but she was very nice to me and she doesn’t deserve this. Cancer sucks!

blurf

**Jynx **- how sad and terrifying!! Cancer is a scary disease, and when it moves this fast… Hugs to you and your family as you go thru this. :frowning:

Yawn. I slept terribly last night. I can’t even blame it on the cat, because he doesn’t bother me until the morning. Little bastard has no concept of a snooze button. I’m sure he thinks he’s helping.

Had a lovely weekend in which I did nothing of use to anybody but myself. Didn’t see anybody but Roomie, didn’t talk to anybody, didn’t even leave the house after dinner Friday except to walk the dog. We watched many movies that ranged from awesome (Warm Bodies) to awesomely terrible (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters–so terrible we watched it twice). We can watch really bad movies because we’re usually doing something else at the same time. This weekend we traced and painted things, because neither of us is artistic enough to just paint off the cuff.

I think I had more to say, but I have totally forgotten it. Blurf.

Dude, yours was. I’m talking with a couple of dealers now and your experience is a sobering reminder. Hope this week’s way better.

The kiddo has 1st day in 8th grade today. Let the multiple manifestations of pre-teen crises begin!

Moom, it’s 58 American degrees here. I need to get into my grunge-era outfit* because this t-shirt by itself is not comfortable.

There were a bunch of folks showing off what they got downtown yesterday. I did not attend. I can see what I got anytime. Don’t care what other people have.

Off to get my car worked on! Later all!

{{{{Jynx}}}}

*Plaid shirt over t-shirt. My sartorial sense is stuck around 1995 which is fine because that look totally works with me.

blurf…
Need caffeinated sugar… oops, “mrowwwr!”… well move out of the way, cat!:frowning:

Laundry is done. It’s time to get groceries. Oh, yes, it’s exciting here. Off to Leonardtown with me!
