Deja Vu: A Frosh TMP

I must say, I miss the box at the bottom of the page where you can just start typing.

Hanna has made her way to Boston. Lots of rain right now, not much else yet.

I’m curious about Death Chicken. Hmmm…I wonder if I could make it with turkey bacon. (Hawkeyeop is Jewish and ‘no pig products’ is one of the kosher rules he actually keeps. It’s annoying. I like bacon.) Bacon Bacon Bacon

Add me to the club hating Dead Lobster. I don’t even like it when someone else is paying. I used to go though because my grandma worked there. (BTW, everything on their menu is designed to be cooked and in front of you in twenty minutes or less and everyone who works there knows it. Time them. If your wait is much longer than that, get a manager–tell them that you know twenty minutes is company policy. They’ll probably make something free.)

Sorry for the headache, Rigs.

I didn’t know cacti could be pruned. Ignorance fought.

Casserole in the fridge.

We just had a couple of sorta power-burps - enough to turn off the TV and dryer, but not the computer. Weird.

My last dryer load will be done in about 10 minutes. Then I can fold it all and be done for the day. Whew.

Taters… :dubious: (actually, by that I meant not to leave the nutmeg out. You will love it).

I think you could try turkey bacon. You just can’t use bacon product or bits or flavored bacon. Try it!

My dad has one room of the attic filled with boxes of pecans he picked up last year. I took a mediumish box of them to mail to my Illinwah friend and barely made a dent. If I ever get enough dinero and time to go back out to Doobie Brothersville I’ll pick up another box or three and see if I can talk Adopted Mom into teaching me how to make a proper peecan pie.

Death Chicken sounds yummy. I might need to make it this week.

Off to beddy-bye…

GT

Almost bedtime here. We went to see a very lousy Kiss tribute band. TVMan is a huge fan of the actual band, but we didn’t even stay for the whole show. I thought that the guy playing Gene Simmons sounded like Ralph the Dogfrom the muppets.:smack:

Head still hurting, but not as bad. Waiting my turn for the tub. Hope there is hot water left for me. Was watching Jon Stewart’s coverage of the RNC just now. Wonderful.

Off to bed soon. I need to forage for food and try a new pair of shoes tomorrow.

rigs, glad you’re on! The chicken was, to quote my son, “To die for…”. It really was delicious. The meat itself was just soooooo tender. This will definitely become part of my meal rotation. My husband loved it.

I survived Hannah, too. I must kill my pets, however. Thrak the Uninstaller pulled down the living room blinds, and Nelly wet the bed again.

Hope you feel better soon, rigs

gt, if I had read your plea eight hours ago, I would have rushed right up there.

swampy, I haven’t been to Dead Lobster in 20 years. And I like seafood.

all the more reason to not go. We got two Legal Seafood’s near me, so why would I go to Dead Lobster? Because my friends, unfortunately, are on tight budgets, so on the rare occassions that we do go out for seafood, we go there instead of Legal. But I maintain that RL is to good seafood as Pizza Hut is to good pizza. It’s fine for folks who don’t have access to the real thing.

Morning all. Up, tired, not wanting to go to work today … sigh :o (that’s me yawning).

Soapy, I hope you’re safe from the storm and especially the tornadoes.

OK, why is it that when I click on someone’s username in this thread, nothing happens. If I click on someone’s username in any other thread, I get a drop-down menu that tells me that I can PM them, see their profile or see their messages. But why doesn’t it work in this thread? Weird.

Good night everyone! ~waving to** gt** and fliriting with Soapy~

To the rest of you: Try to be good while I’m gone.

::waves back at Roo::

I think not getting to profiles might have to do with when the thread was created…? I’m pretty sure I had that problem in the “report problems” thread in ATMB.

I’m up and about to start painting and caulking again. Then it’s out to the garden, off to church, and over to a friend’s to make some hypertufa containers.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Note to self: Don’t head to the pit when you’re not in the mood for a bunch of whiny bitchy people.

Good morning all, up and caffeinating here. Oh yes, I do miss that little “quick reply” box at the bottom of the page - that’s how I usually posted, although many times I had to go to a regular post.

We weren’t finished losing power last night, apparently, because it went out again just around 1 am for another hour or so. I’ve just been sitting here making my grocery list - regular visit this time. The ground is a bit saturated, but everything is starting to dry out, thankfully.

Happy Sunday all. GT, I can’t believe you’re up so early on Sunday and painting! Enjoy church, though, and hope you get a nice brunch before you return to duties.

Good morning and Happy Sunday! It’s gloriously cool out - low 60s - so I’ve opened some windows. It’s not going to last, since we’re expecting mid 80s this afternoon, but I’ll take what I can get when I can get it.

**doggio **- sounds like you need to invest in puppy pampers!

For getting to user profiles and stuff, if you rightclick on the name, then select “Open in new window”, you’ll get it.

And for all of you messaging me about the Mumpers Social Page - I’m sure you’ve seen the various and sundry comments on ATMB about that function not being activated yet. I can’t even do anything. I can’t respond, I can’t invite, half the time, I can’t even find the durn thing! But if it ever gets straightened out, we can decide what we’re going to do with it. I had no great plan - I just thought I’d do it.

My big decision now is when to pop the casserole into the oven. The whole household is asleep. I know the young 'uns stayed up kinda late and our guest was exhausted, having spent the night before on a Greyhound bus coming from Ormond Beach. We may end up having it for lunch instead of breakfast! I do know **FCD **is sorta awake, since Scruffy was barking as I donned my robe and flip-flops - maybe I’ll get him up so we can go to the marina to check on the boat, then I’ll leave a note for the kids to bake the casserole when they’re ready. That’s a possibility.

For the record, I don’t want to work in the basement today, but we *will *finally finish the first coat of mudding. The girls will paint the closet and bathroom. And I have one more load of jeans to run in the washer. Admit it - you want to be me and live my exciting life. You know you do.

Why yes. Yes I do yearn to spend all my weekends hangin’ drywall… :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. I even have my Company Smashed N.O.T. casserole all ready to go in the oven to heat up. I’ll do that part after I purtify for church. I also get to be lector this mornin’.

We had a little tstorm last night. Both of us were tired so we went to bed around eight-thirty. About nineish I was driftin’ off to sleepyland and heard rumblin’ sounds. I couldn’t decide if somebody was revvin’ and engine or if it was thunderin’. Then FLASH OK, thinks I thunder. Then I went to sleep. Anywho, it definitely rained durin’ the night.

Wow I started a Dead Lobster hatefest!

Ok, I need more caffiene.

Later Y’all!

Up caffeinated and off to work.

MMMMooooooommmm!!!, it’s either fear or passive aggression on Nelly’s part. I’ll do the mud if you run my shift for today.

: waves at Dotty :

Yay! So glad you all liked it–it is one of my favorite cold weather meals. In fact, I’m thinking of trying it in a crock pot this winter. The blend of flavors is just so… can’t describe it, but very very good!
Flatironing my hair and then I’m off to try out these new shoes I heard about elsewhere here.

THanks! We lost power for a little bit- but all was well after all. Tornadoes scare the bejeezus outta me- we lived in St. Louis for many years and it was scary! So no tornadoes and a very good thing!

(winks back at Roo).
