Hullo. Happy Humpday! One day closer to Firday. I made a yummy ham-potato scallop casserole. Yum. **FCD **did the dishes. Yay!
Welcome back, gene!! Come back soon, Haze!! Hugs all around. That’s all.

This is like bad TV reception back in the day. Sometimes I can get through and other times, forget it. Most aggravating.
Skim, skim…
What a week so far. It’s been good, but I’m so tired I’ll have to wait to explain.
Haze, I wish you wouldn’t go, but I can certainly understand. You will definitely be missed.
Stay safe, Bobbio. Hope Hanna moves in a different direction than predicted (out on water, away from people would be good).
Awww, Haze, I’m sorry to see you take a break. :(:( I expect to see lots of updates on GoodReads, young lady!
I stopped venturing into the Pit over the weekend once more and more threads started to be cruel/pointless. (I seldom go into the Pit on normal days, but initially found the free-for-all kind of interesting.)
McUne gave me access to add recipes to the blog. We’re still figuring out how to coordinate so that we aren’t trying to add something that the other already added. I’m going to make my inaugural attempt to add a recipe with Dotty’s camel recipe. Because, really, how many blogs have recipes for camel??? I think there was a recipe somewhere in last week’s MMP that still needed to be added too. Maybe from Rebo?
taz…that’s right. Cuz you really do remind us of the Tazmanian Devil cartoon character. FCM, did you name your cat after gene?
Smartie, your move-in account left me speechless. There are certain people who are simply beyond my understanding.
I started my junior year of college in the fall of '78.
In the pleasant political news coverage discovery department (I’ll bet you didn’t know that was an actual department): Dave Barry has covered both party conventions. He makes juvenile jokes about everyone. He also covered the Olympics. Here’s the link to all of his recent columns.
LOOOOONG day at work. Well, it felt that way. Had to lead a meeting from 9:00-2:00 (more or less). Most of the time was me going “bla bla bla” because the point was to make sure everyone had the same understanding of the process we’re going to be working on. Nava’s meeting sounded familiar, except that we didn’t have redundant diagrams.
I’ve had rice with melted cheese. Now I’m going to harvest a couple of tomatoes. Yum.
And then maybe I’ll do something productive-ish. Is it FIRDAY yet?
GT
I think he must have been tweaking something there for a bit. It’s actually going better than I would have expected for a migration of this size.
Yet another attempt to post.:mad::mad: This is ridiculous!
I attempted earlier but it didn’t make it, so I’ll try to summarize.
dotty and here I was thinkin’ I needed sump’n different for Thanksgiving this year. That recipe sounds like it might feed about a dozen folks.
gene maybe it’s your puter that’s over caffienated.
{{{Haze}}} awwwwwww… just don’t stay away too long young lady.
soapy you want the bear pic to show up at least once a week? That’s either intriguin’ or weird. Either way, I like it!
Mindude sounds like a fun trip. I didn’t click on any of the pics cause I didn’t want to chance this attempt to post. I’ll look later. I promise.
I had a chat with AT&T today. I called to get rid of some features I don’t use like *69, three-way callin’, call forward and a couple others I don’t remember right now. Of course they kept tryin’ to talk me out of it. I mentioned that I could go discuss this with a couple of their competitors. Lo and Behold! Not only did I get what I wanted, but I now have free long distance calling (within the U.S.) and their super duper deluxe whoopie doo dsl. And… it’s three bucks less a month! Amazin’ what the mention of competitors will do for ya!
Ok, here we go… will it post?
You start pointing fingers, and there’s 3 more pointing back at you.
I was 17 in '78. Git off mah lawn!
Haze, sweetie, I hate to see you go, but we’re all here if you decide to come back. I’ll miss you.
I was 14 in 1978.
I remember Taz’s frenetic posting style. Maybe his kids will tire him out a little so he won’t be so over-caffienated.
Work seemed incredibly long. Thank goodness I only have two more days left in the work week.
The free for all in the pit was interesting…for about a minute. Then it just got too out of hand. I don’t venture there often either, and I’m sorry I did over the weekend. I don’t like it when people are mean to each other anyway.
I should get dinner going. I’m not hungry, but it needs to be done.
My son started 10th grade today. He’s currently upstairs napping. He liked his classes, so that’s a good thing. We’ll see what he really thinks when he gets a little more settled in the classes.
Wow, I killed the thread.
Yooo-hooooo!!! Anyone out there?
(waves hi)
A delight to meet you Ivory, (and I’m sorry to see Haze go, please don’t be leaving on account of my return).
‘Danger’ is a difficult one, cos Dangermom (is she still here?) was part of the MMP before I started my short, but frenetic, participation.
Here’s an upgrade wordle for you!
Morning all!
dangermouse, I see your Freddo Frogs and raise you a passel of Caramello Koalas!
Haze, be good (or at least be careful)! We are thinking of you and hoping it all works out for you!
FTR, I was 5 in 1978!
swampy, I was thinking it was a recipe kai could use, substituting reindeer (or whatever it’s called in Alaska - caribou?) for camel!
Speaking of kai, I wanted to wait till after the Lost Weekend to mention this - kai, your photo is stunning. I had a mental image of you as a tired, weatherbeaten woman, with deep, beautiful eyes! But you look neither tired, nor weatherbeaten - you look stunningly beautiful (at least I got the eyes right!).
My youngest child turned a year old in 1978 when I was 19–do I win?
Nice Wordle, DoRe, but you forgot to put “FUCKED” in the middle of it–why no, I’m not having any timeout errors, nor are my attempts to post resulting in a blank white page, why do you ask? :dubious:
Spankingly fabulous pics, Mork, heartfelt golf clap!
I’m sending “rain rain go away” thoughts your way, bobbio!
I’m terribly tired but can’t seem to fall asleep tonight for some odd reason. Had a recurrence of the migraine so Himself worked on massaging out my shoulder and neck for a full 90 minutes, aaaahhhh… The man has fabulous hands! I was too tired to cope with dinner so it was Taco Hell all the way, w00t!
Darn it, I meant to text the Grandboy earlier to see how his first day of school went but I forgot and now it’s too late–he’d better be in bed!
I’m gonna go beddy bye now… sleep tight, y’alls!
All right, between the time-outs and the temporary locked registration I’m still just getting used to being back. But I’ve been a constant lrker, still checking in, I promise.
One thing: The night shift here has been way too quiet for the past two months.
Once this place settles down I’m going to resume full-time troublemaker responsibilities.
And a haiku… for you:
The MMP sits
Senseless chatter everywhere
Hey! Who threw that pie?
Silent MMP
no one to talk to, play with,
and there is no pie.
I was turning 18 and graduating high school, moving into my own first little house while working as an operator for GTE, running around in my fast awesome car ('67 Impala, man) and being young and hot in 1978. My friends and I were smart, for we had the sense to know to call the time as it was happening the G.O.D.'s. (Good Old Days)
I am feeling quite humbled by the comments regarding my latest couple of photos, thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. I will remember your words when I am feeling all old and mungy.
Just more Tea and the kids, what more can I say about the most beautiful and perfect child ever? Even when she’s cranky she fills my soul with light.
Still taking pain meds and keflex for the root canal. Man, it’s all sore up in there, even my eye socket feels tender. I do not like dentistry, especially in my mouth!
Goofy from pain meds, gonna read some and then hit the hay.
Ta!
kai! My favorite Alaska resident. Hiya!

Haze**: The break helps, there are other places to go/see/call “internet home”.
VB: mouse & I literally live ten minutes apart from each other, and Boston is very connected via public transport. Next week is a bitch for me (work busy) but I’ll keep an eye on this thread to see how plans may come together.
You’re back!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
:does happy dance:
Mmmmm, I has my pie and eats it too.
