Which casino was that again? /s

I’ve never watched “KotH,” although I wish I had because it’s right up my alley, so I had no idea who Boomhauer was. I also didn’t understand why anyone thought there was anything odd about his speech pattern.
So I take it you’re a fan of propane and propane accessories.
BTW- Which casinos are/were you banned from again? I mean you’re Really into gambling.
I’d hate to think that I was bothering a throw away account for some Ben Affleck wannabe when it’s “time to make the donuts”.
Looking stuff up on a phone is a pain in the ass. Having to navigate to a different app to Google someone’s name is time-consuming and annoying (and probably bad for mental health, given the impact of context switching on depression and anxiety.) I’m grateful to anyone who can save me that step.
No, I did. And I only did it yesterday. Most of the confusion around your failure to include enough information for posters to understand what you were talking about had already occurred.
Why would you use a different app to google? Just swipe the address bar for a new tab (at least in Chrome.) Anyway, I can see that being a pain for some people.
I’m using the SD app now, so Chrome is a different app.
There’s an SD app?!
Surprised me too. But I was using a browser and it prompted me to install the app.
So far it’s fine, minus one problem I keep having with trying to quote people. Every time I highlight text it will throw me back a hundred posts. I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem.
Yes and no. It’s a web app. It’s just the web site run separately in its own instance on your device.
But it’s not a full-blown real app. Think of it like a browser tab that stays on one web site.
Yes. Yes, I have.
Somewhat related to this thread, Facebook just showed me a post from someone who really wishes he had heard of Max Headroom:
Me too. It drives me freaking bonkers. Discourse can be absolutely brutal on a mobile device, which stinks because 90% of the time I post, I’m on my phone. (Because my phone is the thing that’s always with me all day.)
Luckily I’m posting this from my PC right now, where it’s a lot more forgiving.
One post from that person:
The same people saying “how young are you???” think the 80s was 20 years ago
So they’re telling us that they’re in their 20s.
I’m one of those weird people who doesn’t do everything on my phone. I do all my computer work on an actual computer, either my desktop or a laptop. So when I’m reading the Dope I already have a tab for Wikipedia open, so it’s no problem if I come across something I don’t know to just click on the tab and type in what I’m looking for.
Add me to this cult as well. I much prefer my laptop or desktop to my phone. It’s trivial to highlight a word or phrase, right-click and select ‘Search Google for …’
The only upside to the phone is that IF you’re in public, AND you’re bored, THEN the 'Dope is readable on your phone. And semi-postable-to. If you’ve got small fingers, good eyes, and the patience of a saint.
And like making very short posts.
And don’t want to quote earlier posts.
If I’m in public, depending on the circumstances, I will have either a paperback book or my Kindle to fight boredom. My phone is primarily used for checking texts, occasionally using an app, and very rarely for actually taking and making calls.
