It’s this Friday lady and gentlemen dopers. At Goodfriends Resturant at 3100 E. Colfax (east side of the street). This is my first one so I don’t know how long they run but I imagine I will be getting there about 7 p.m.
For those of you street oriented it is about five blocks west of Colorado Blvd.
For those of you park oriented it is about four blocks north of city park.
For those of you old porn theater oriented it is a block west of the Bluebird Theater.
Damn TV, I have way too many financial issues (major) for me to be able to make it. 
Is this an expensive restaurant? Family place?
It is not expensive. Definitely not LoDo expensive. It could be family type, but since it is on Capital Hill, I haven’t seen that many big families in there. But I have seen smaller families. It’s what the English would call a “local” with fern-bar aspirations. It gets Westword awards regularly. Not a dive, but great margueritas. Not a sports bar but it does have a handful of sets to keep track of Colorado teams.
I decided on it because I think just about everyone can be comfortable there, both straights and gays, young people to 20-somethings on up all the way to me.
Sorry TV, didn’t mean to make it seem like the place was expensive. That was not my intent.
My investment check hasn’t been received. I am over due with rent, phone and utilities. The rent will cost me a great late fee which will not allow me to make the trip.
Damnit.
I need to call my sitter this afternoon. I’m always ready for a beer, so I’ll post again after I speak with her.
No problem at all Techchick. I have been there. I imagine we all have. You will be missed, but it just makes it a necessity that some time in the not to distant future we hold the first ever Colorado Springs mini-dopefest. We have to make it before the snow flies though because those drivers in Springs scare the heck out of me on snow and ice.
Many of those soldiers from Fort Carson and airmen from Peterson AFB who grew up in the south or southwest have no idea what to do with white stuff on the highway.
Ok, TV Time, I’ll be there around 7. How will I know you? Will you have a red flower pinned on you something?
Look for Santa Claus in a black shirt with a pink tie that reads “It’s T.V. Time.”
Actually the hair and beard are not quite at Santa Claus length any longer (summer heat and all) but you’ll see the resemblance.
I sure wish I could make it. It would be my first. Unfortunately I have a dental appointment tomorrow afternoon and other plans for the evening. I’ll definitely try for the next one, though.

At any rate, I’ll be there, and maybe thingnumberone who lurks more than posts, so that’ll be three, or perhaps four. Denver-area Dopers, I’m very, very disappointed…
You know, techchick68, I (or we) could always buy drinks for you if you can arrange transportation…
I am golfing in Castle Rock tomorrow and will be driving back around 7, but I have to pick up kids. Otherwise, I would detour and be there.

Since this is a Denver thread I figure I’ll post this here. But for those who don’t know the LoDo music fest is going on tonight and tomorrow. It’s kind of expensive but there should be a lot of good music(and good beer )
I haven’t been able to find a sitter. I’m afraid that I’ll have to try again next time.

Sooooo, what crazy things did I miss.
That’s okay I am snug as a bug here at home. I did get some beer and smoked something, I did, really. But curious to see who all showed up and what wacky pictures you can show.
Well, the pictures aren’t really wacky, but you can put faces with names. I had a great time. It was a calm evening, but great conversation. We all got along as if we’d known each other for years!
