Der Spiegel declares war on Trump

In the pit because Trump. This is an extremely alarming editorial piece.

That’s a link to this forum.

That link just took me to The BBQ Pit.

Ah crap. Try this.

Your wall failed. Prepare to go to war!

And of course, this was their recent cover.

So what exactly is unique about this? I thought all of Europe except the right wing fringe movements are anti-Trump.

Will Germany someday soon accept Americans as refugees? Please? Pretty please?

Merkel might as well grow a tiny mustache, because what she has done to Germany and to the German people is simply unbelievable, and so damaging.

This is an editorial that states some pretty blunt facts;

And for those who don’t know, Der Spiegel is quite an important publication in Europe.

<snerk> The right-wingers complain that liberals are being “hysterical” and “melodramatic” if they compare Trump to Hitler, and then they turn around and hysterically and melodramatically Godwinize Merkel, of all people.

The whiplash between Trump supporters complaining that liberals should just calm down and stop overreacting so much to Trump, and their subsequently having nuclear meltdowns of their own about anybody who dares to criticize Trump, is getting rather tiresome. Your critiques of exaggeration from the left might be slightly more believable if you didn’t indulge in the same sort of thing to a far greater degree every chance you get.

I didn’t think I’d ever see an online troll stupider than Donald Trump, but congrats. You win.

Crawl back under your rock, you fucking moron.

Liberals on this forum may believe that I’m a troll, and they are free to believe whatever they please, but I am being serious.

I have a stellar record on this forum when it comes to accurate predictions, and I will share another one now:

The EU will certainly be history sooner rather than later.

More and more countries will be exiting the failed and corrupt EU soon.

First the UK, and there are many more that have the potential to replicate that wise act soon.

The people have woken up, the common man, and they have made it clear that they want nothing to do with the traitorous elites that have been screwing them over for so long now.

Well, Der Spiegel says that Germany must “plan its political and economic defenses” and “stand up in opposition” to Trump. They are not declaring war - instead, war is being brought to them, metaphorically at least, in the form of far-right demagoguery that threatens both Western democracy itself and the (relatively) peaceful world order.

It is a darkly amusing irony that the leaders of the Free World are now the Germans, while the once-enlightened British and Americans have turned to right-wing xenophobic, insular populism.

It feels strange to feel considerably ideologically closer to the German government than my own.

You may have noticed that a right wing fringe movement conned the UK public recently and won a referendum. Brexiteers and Trumpeteers are largely the same demographics.

Like Donald Trump and his band of billionaires and bankers?

The anti-immigration and hostility to Islam are one of the few things they have in common. There is zero interest, for example, for Brexit supporters to eliminate the National Health Service (like Trump wants to eliminate Obamacare).

Does “traitorous elites” mean “Jews?” I’m having a hard time following that you are complaining about.

DNFTT. Blinky’s clearly incapable of rational thought, but the powers that be have no problem with him being around (although someone should check his IP to make sure he’s not posting from a Houston Tae Kwan Do school), so the very best we can do is collectively ignore his slavering stupidity until he fucks off or at least nobody has to read anything he says.

In a superb feat of prolonged cognitive dissonance, the American “common man” manages not to notice that they’ve elected about the most “elite” candidate possible: a super-wealthy* Hollywood celebrity and international business executive who stiffs his employees and contractors, is inexplicably deferential to the Russian regime, and chooses Wall Street bankers and other corporate interests as his trusted advisers.

When it comes to getting screwed over, the “common man” ain’t seen nothing yet. Trump is working very hard to show them, though.

  • Well, maybe. We still haven’t seen those tax returns.
