Yep. If there’s one thing you can say about us Israelis, it’s that we’re huge NASCAR fans.
Der trihs= red shirt
There’s no putting one past you is there?
And guns. You’re like red-necks but Jewish.
Not to mention bacon - yummy, crunchy bacon. We can’t get enough of it.
I imagine pork products are a real big seller in Israel, just like non-kosher processed meat. I dream of someday opening the Oscar Mayer franchise down there.
The mystery foul I could do without, though, so I don’t plan on moving to follow my wonderful business idea
Hey, is bacon salt kosher?
SDMB discussion is here.
I guess I’m not decent and reasonable then…
No.
No. This isn’t even about support for the US presence in Iraq. It’s about not wishing death on people simply to further your policy goals.
Wow.
Do you know, I actually skipped that thread because it had “bacon” in the title?
Now THAT is observing kashrut.
Heh. I just assumed it was one of those threads that had nothing to do with me - you know, like hockey threads.
Booooooo. No bacon salt for you!
But can you read a thread about milk when you’re eating a hamburger?
Sure, but a bacon double cheeseburger…not so much.
For me, the strange thing about Der Trihs is he reminds me of me…when I was 17. He’s all piss and vinegar against religion and government, which is fine, but he limits himself to the two subjects he knows the most about; Christianity and American politics. Because of this it seems he’s without perspective and so his arguments lack credibility.
Are you saying that needs to start hating some other religions and governments to diversify his portfolio? I can see that not working out.
Probably because, though those are the subject he knows most about, he actually knows very little about them. What he does know is mostly bullshit.
I’m still back on page on, trying to figure out how exactly Der Trihs represents “the position of the left.” And if that is the case, is Mr Moto “the right”? There are no other positions than these? Again,
I like** Der Trihs**. To me, he is comes across as all piss and vinegar, but at least he’s not picayune and whiney. He uses hyperbole quite a bit and IMO some here take all he says to the letter. I read him more as expressing his frustrations at events that dismay him. YMMV.
I think **Moto **would self-describe as being on the right, and a Republican. I don’t know about DT– he doesn’t seem to care much for the Dems, although he considers the Pubbies worse. But if you look at issues one at a time, **DT **will generally take what is considered the position of the left. Not all the time, of course, but on most of the common issues that pop in GD: Iraq, abortion, taxes, free trade, death penalty, etc.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that he represents “the left”, but he does usually take the position generally associated with “the left”.
