Sorry for the pedantry, but I got curious. The Iron Age extends from 1300 BC - 400AD but of course varies by location. Some place the Roman era from 1-400AD, but I’ll just wave my hands.
I have to admit, Bronze Age allegory is a superior putdown.

Are you sure that’s how that works? What you’re saying is that when you find out that somebody has personal experience with and knowledge of the thing you’re actually talking about, instead of saying “oh, fuck, you know something and I don’t; I guess I can go to hell,” you can basically declare victory by pissing them off and then pointing out that they’re pissed off?
So like if you’re arguing about what is it probably like on the moon, and the person you’re arguing with shows you his god-damned astronaut’s license, you can just tell them it’s photoshopped and then if he calls you a dumbass for that, you win? Or does this only apply to, you know, girly feelings?
There is frequently other evidence that can be be brought to bear other than one person’s feelings.
In addition, you are misrepresenting the situation here, in that the one “declaring victory” was the one with the personal experiences, not the other way around. She was saying “no one can argue with me because I had this experience and they didn’t”.
And similarly, you’re comparing to a different type of situaton in which the person you’re arguing with shows actual evidence (“astronaut’s license”), which has a bearing on the extent to which their authority can be questioned - perhaps you can explain why you chose that situation and not one actually comparable to the one at hand.
Lastly, it’s not like DT asserted outright that Olives made up or distorted her experience. He merely noted in passing that it was a possibility.
In sum, your analogy and arguments fail for a number of reasons, and the logic remains as I’ve said. Try to argue based on your own authority, you need to accept some degree of questioning of that authority.
