desert rant - part one

When the weather person says that the temperature will reach
the “lower hundreds”, doesn’t he/she realize how very incorrect that statement is? 200 or 300 degrees would be the lower hundreds, at least in my book. Yes, it’s been months since the thermometer dipped below 75 here and I am getting a little pissy. Carry on.

I hate it when our local weathermen say there’s a “cooling trend” or “cold front”, because it’s 96 degrees instead of 104.

I live in the desert too. But not the high desert. Just desert here.

I’m in Minnesota, originally from the SoCal desert, and I’m always getting asked if I miss the milder climate. After a while the 85-90 degree Christmas days kind of get to you.

well, seeing as few places on EARTH get into the 200s or 300s, its rather safe to assume most people will think he/she meant 101, 102, etc.

Hmm, part one is about temp, two about grass and three about a locked car. So I’ll think I’ll post the thing I hate most about the desert in this one.

It gives me bloody noses. Or rather it gave me bloody noses all the freaking time. I’d just be standing there minding my own business then I’d feel something running down my lip. I hate that dryness.
