The Gabby storyline was a fine example of why America is becoming a nation of pussies. Who the hell insists that their kids be watched every minute of every waking hour? When I was a kid we went hours without parental supervision during the summer, and in my case oftentimes while riding my bike around an abandoned quarry.
What? And you’re still alive?
Me, too! And my pet chimp never did me a bit of harm!
The weary, wise maid Bree was talking to was Miss Jeanette, late of True Blood.
I loved the maid and her scenes with Bree. It was the best part of the ep. for me.
Okay, so this thread seems to be dying, I’ll start a new discussion. Who wants to guess that Catherine goes crazy and winds up going all Single White Female on Susan. They’ve already planted the idea of her going nuts. The thing at Susan’s wedding, the thing with the “her” and Mike’s wedding cake, telling people that Mike hit on her, and I imagine sooner or later Bree will point out that this isn’t the first time Susan has been snooping around their house in the middle of the night. In Catherine’s head I don’t think it was an accident that she got shot, I think she thinks Susan knew who it was and did it on purpose.
So, on the one hand we have a stand off at the end of the season and someone (or something) takes out Catherine, but we’ve seen that happen already. Whatshisface got killed right before he could kill AJ and then I don’t remember the details but the other guy that got killed during the tornado (I know he wasn’t after Susan, I’m just saying that was another instance where they killed off a one season person and kept all the housewives safe and sound.
OTOH They could have Catherine kill Susan, but unless Mike is on board with getting back together with Catherine in that event I think Catherine obsessing over Mike would get boring.
Catherine obsessing over Mike is already boring. On so many levels. Dramatic, psychological, feminist. Yeah, I know the show’s a comedy. It’s still a boring plot line.
Anyway, if the show was a drama they would have had a great plotline if Lynette had chosen to have an abortion. Or what if her twins are handicapped and their medical insurance won’t cover their bills. (yeah, I’m grouchy today).
The whole Lynette is having twins plotline makes me grouchy every time I watch it.
She’s in her late forties. She’s had major league cancer involving all kinds of treatment that is known to destroy fertility but . . . she’s pregnant. Oh and naturally of course and of course with twins. Which she isn’t showing yet and she’s approaching the end of the first trimester.
Yeah, right.
At one point they had her talking to another character about how pregnancy has made her abdomen look like swiss cheese. Then they cut to her actual belly and she has rock hard abs.
Good grief.
