Desperate Housewives 11/5

Tonight brings us a hostage scene and a shoot-out in a grocery store. Beyond that, who knows?

I’m going out on a limb and guessing that:

Bree does something unexpected and brave;

Susan somehow alienates/charms Mike by doing something geeky;

Edie sneers at Susan;

Gaby and Carlos yell smolderingly at each other;

Lynette is mean to Doug, who pouts.

Who’s Doug?

I hope that annoying girl gets shot during the hostage situation. Don’t even remember her name - Lynette’s husband’s mistress. I think the previews show her in the store with Lynette when it all goes down.

I can’t wait till 8 - I desperately need something to distract me from my Freud paper.

Isn’t Doug Lynette’s husband? All the men except Carlos look alike to me on that show.

His name is Tom, but yeah, it might as well be Doug.

I think the actor’s name is Doug Savant. Personally, I think he looks more like a Doug than a Tom.

I’ve nothing much to add except that I’ve gone back to hating Gabby again.

Holy ****!!!

Crazy lady just shot slightly less crazy lady - aka Tom’s former mistress

Wow. This was actually a very good episode.

Agreed. I love sweeps!

:eek:

I, uh, didn’t mean it.

Talk about being careful what you wish for.

Well, that’s a relief! I was afraid Mr. Eko was going to die.

She was more in the nature of an ex-girlfriend than mistress, wasn’t she? I mean their kid is eleven, so her conception seems to predate the wedding. I’m glad they killed her off, though they could go the Melrose Place way and have her ghost haunt them…

Did anyone else get teary about the dream at the end? I just felt so bad for Lynette :frowning:

Awww, Laurie Metcalf is my favvorite PsychoILF.

Good episode! Season two fell to crap because the mystery that made the show interesting was solved at the end of season 1. Season 3 is coming full circle and the show is pretty good again.

I called Nora’s getting shot about three minutes in but it was still a shock when it happened. Comes off as a cheap way to get rid of her and shoehorn the new kid into the Scavo family. They don’t pay any attention to the kids they already have, why would they want another? I did love Lynette’s line, though. “I didn’t want the first four but they’re growing on me.”

I certainly hope Bree’s learned her lesson about meddling in other peoples’ business. Oh who am I kidding, Bree never learns anything.

I loved the contrasting of Bree’s guilt with Tom’s. “We were out of hamburger, and I wanted hamburgers.” Drama queen.

Ian and Susan. Still could not care less. Hope he catches the next flight to Paris and it crashes. Except no one ever makes their flights out of that town.

Gaby and Carlos. I hope they get spun off into their own show. That I won’t watch and it gets cancelled so I never have to see them again.

What’s going to be happening with the new neighbor, do you suppose? An invalid sister waiting in the wings, but he has a pretty good throwing arm.

Next week, Orson’s crazy mother, so who was he visiting in the nut hut when Bree was escaping?

My tivo crashed about three minutes from the end. I didn’t see the dream sequence. Could someone please fill me in?

Thank you.

It’s the same dream she had at the beginning, but this time she walks over to Mary Alice and says she knows Mary Alice is not all right and that she wants to make it better. And of course Mary Alice says she can’t because “you can’t prevent what you can’t predict.” Lynette wants to know if there’s anything she can do, and Mary Alice tells her to enjoy the lovely day while she can. And then she comments that this was the last time Lynette had this dream, and that she’s glad for Lynette’s sake.

And I bawled like a baby. It must have hit me just right. Or maybe it’s all the flu meds I’m hopped up on. Either way, it was a nice way to end it.

This was a great episode. Next week looks so ho-hum compared to tonight’s episode. Cripes, give someone a gun in every episode from now on!

i knew nora would die in this ep. and i was floored on how it was done. i expected some sort of escape attempt or other nonsence. amazing.

loved everyone ending up at bree’s house. made me wonder what she served on other grim occasions.

poor kayla. poor nora, getting caught dead as a brunette pippylongstocking.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that scene made cry. :slight_smile:
