Desperate Housewives 12/5/2010

I haven’t seen a thread on this episode yet.

Spoiler space:

There’s something that really annoyed me about this episode. Yes, I know this show is not meant to be believable. It’s a total fantasy/parody. And yet:

Paul’s whole scheme, we now know, is that he’s going to set up a halfway house for hardened criminals on Wisteria lanes. He can do this because he can get eight votes in the homeowners assocation, which constitutes a majority.

But here’s the thing: For something as serious as a halfway house, he’d need more than the permission of the HOA. He’d need the permission of the town of Fairview, via either its zoning laws or its planning commision. To me, this seems so obvious that I was baffled when nobody brought it up.

Yeah, I wondered about that too.

Another thing that bothered me: Wouldn’t Gabby get in big trouble for pretending to be Carmen. I figure she’d get hit with an obstruction of justice charge or some sort of (and I’m pulling this out of my ass here, but you get the gist) “impersonating a suspect in an attempt to fool a federal law enforcement agency” charge.

I wouldn’t think they’d throw her in the can for a few hours and just leave it at that over a stunt like this.

Agreed. It was an okay ep but weak in the logic dept.
