I figured that on a message board as large and geek-filled as this one, there MUST be some Nethack players. I juuust registered and was wondering if we had a clan and if so, if the existing members wouldn’t mind me coming in and wrecking their average.

I’ve played Nethack since it was called hack and ran on two floppy disks on my IBM PC. But I’ve never heard of any tournament…

That’s the thing, I have no freaking clue. I think you need to be invited by the clan, which is why I wanted to know if there was a clan at all. I guess this means I’m free to start one?
Arright, there seems to be no way to search for members from the website. I’ll need yer user names if you want to join the SDMB clan (and please help me think of a better name than “SDMB Clan”).

Hrmm… Don’t read an unbought, scroll of flame while standing right next to Ivernik, the friendly local general store owner :P. I like nethack and I like online gaming but online nethack is just too panful to use. The lag and general unresponsiveness makes this very unfun to play :(.
Aww. Is the lag that bad? :\ Are you using Telnet? The folks at rgrn told me to get PuTTY which I don’t suppose helps the lag any but it has made it more enjoyable since you can change the settings and such.
Give it a try, or I’ll have to change our name back to the Teeming Two
