With that logic - Angel is a seargent - he hasn’t even been a Lt yet, so can’t be.
Deb makes sense, except for the fact they set up Mathews coming back so that he can get his full retirement/pension, and now that they are absent a Cpt, makes sense for him to step back in.
Other option is to introduce a new charactor, but that seems iffy at the end of the series.
I think LaGuerta was stupid for thinking that she could get Dexter if he was smart enough to pull all of this off. She should have waited until she had all of the pieces in place, and then sprung the trap. She should’ve called for backup. She’s like a female Dr. Evil…
Hannah pulling the Hannibal Lecter / Honey Badger thing was a nice twist. I figured she’d die before being locked up forever. I do have a problem with why she wasn’t in restraints. She was incarcerated. Common sense (which was lacking in this episode) would have been to shackle her and/or post a guard outside the door.
Other then to move the story along, I can’t think of any reason for not to have been handcuffed to the bed. Who woulda guessed there’s things in a hospital she could use to cut a zip tie?:smack: Also, unless that’s normal in her jurisdiction, there’s no way she could have known she wouldn’t have been handcuffed to the bed.
But I can overlook it. It was still a good episode overall.
Would they handcuff someone in a hospital? Seems like if they needed an emergency transfer to an OR or something it would be a hassle to make sure to find the guy with the handcuff key, etc. Wouldn’t surprise me if hospital procedure was to have restraints that are easy to get off quickly if necesary.
It’s possible that the police made a snap judgment call and decided that a slender woman was unlikely to require any more restraint than a zip-tie. I’m not sure how they neglected to at least watch her, though.
Seeing Doakes again made me realize how much better the show was early on.
Doakes was, by far, the best villain(?) the show ever had. Season 2 is the best season because of him, by a large margin. I’ve missed Doakes. This has probably been the best season since 2 though.
I read this post on my phone earlier and didn’t notice the “(?)”. I was going to say that in that season Doakes was really the protagonist while Dexter was more of the villain. But I don’t remember who he was after.
Personally, my favorite season was with Trinity/John Lithgow.
Dexter was clearly the protagonist - the story is told from his perspective - so it’s more accurate to call Doakes the antagonist, since he’s not a bad guy, and villain doesn’t fit.
I just saw the episode. I was surprised that Hannah was secured with just a plastic zip tie. And was it deliberate that we didn’t see Harrison at the party? I thought that Hannah would kidnap or kill him, but perhaps that will happen in the first episode of the next season.
So, apparently Hannah DID drug Deb? I thought for sure Deb had faked it. I think it would’ve been a better story if she had - Dex losing his love (who HADN’T betrayed him after all), and Deb breaking more laws and taking crazy risks to get rid of Hannah.
In the end - it didn’t really matter - the statement at the prison was the big ‘truth’ - Dex would never be able to trust her ‘not’ to do it - and for some reason, Hannah could never ‘trust’ Dexter either.
But early in the episode - yes, Hannah admitted to being the one that drugged Deb - Her comment to Deb (about the xanax at the courtroom) was to get under Deb’s skin about the xanax and being a hypocrite when it came to Dexter. After all, how would Hannah know Deb was on xanax if she hadn’t drugged her with it.
Hannah would not hurt Harrison nor Dexter directly - I think the flower at the door is either the ‘poison’ plant or a hint for Dexter to know how to find her (or both).
As for next season - I can’t really see them ending it with Dex in prison or dead - so I still think that next season will be Dexter’s final wake up call that he really does want ‘that life’ that he had been faking for so long.
