Yeah, Vince already creeps about just about everyone, but they tolerate him. If there was some official investigation started and people had to like… give testimony and answer questions about his behavior, he would be toast.
Wait, I thought Deb actually knew this?
She did…she was dating him.
She didn’t know it then, but she found out about it in season 4, I think. Not much has come of it.
And I think they added an explanation this episode that Masuka couldn’t get back the hand even though he discovered the auction before it ended, because it was already in possession of the auction site. Not really a workable business model compared to ebay, but…
What was the arm all about in the first place? Is there anything specific to it that can cause problems for Dexter?
No, it’s unrelated to Dexter. A side plot between Masuka and Ryan.
Another nitpick of course is that no auction site is likely to allow the sale of human body parts.
No, again, she found out during the season with the Trinity Killer via one of her dads old informants.
Err…its a prosthetic arm, isn’t it?
Dexter tracked down and killed the guy didn’t he?
Well, if we’re nit-picking. How did that house owner know Deb was a lieutenant? The detective only said she was the “boss.”
Ha! Lazy writers.
The snowstorm that left us without power left us without DVR Dexter as well! I’m going to have to watch it streaming online Probably tomorrow. twitch
I have some solace, though. The audio books I’m currently listening to on my commute to and from work are the Dexter books. I’m about 2/3 through book 2 and enjoying them so far.
Yeah, I’m really starting to feel the “Geller is a hallucination” thing now. Travis’s whole speech to Dexter about Geller being the strong one and how *he *couldn’t go through with it himself cause he was weak sounded more like he was talking about multiple personalities. During that whole scene I kept thinking “Travis has seen Dexter, Dexter can’t let him go. But I bet Travis is the real killer so they have to have Dexter let him go free,” and then yup, Dexter lets him just walk away.
My thoughts exactly as I watched it. Also, ever since it was mentioned by someone upthread I’ve been paying attention and noticed that no one else has seen or talked to (for as long as I’ve been paying attention) Geller but Travis.
He didn’t know until she told him. He first guessed that she was Detective Anderson’s girlfriend. Anderson corrected him and said she’s his boss. Then Deb introduced herself to the owner as “Lieutenant Debra Morgan, Miami Metro Homicide.”
Ha! Lazy viewer!
Ah! You’re right - I re-watched that scene.
I’m so ashamed.
There was a line in the episode about this particular auction site requiring the item to be sent to them before the auction. Still weird, but it covers your particular issue with that part.
Blonde girl (Ryan?) steals arm, sends it to auction site, auction happens, Vince loses, arm’s in someone else’s hands now (no pun intended).
Is it really that easy to crack 25 year-old serial killer cases? Go to a Florida rest home, find some old guy who lived in a state where killings occurred a generation ago, bingo-bango, you’re tossing trophy teeth in the ocean.
Well, there are rather a lot of serial killers in Dexter’s universe.
So many it’s a wonder there are any victims left to kill in the Miami area.
Has Dexter ever deliberately sabotaged a case as much as this? There was the trinity killer, but there was an emotional connection so it made sense.
Why can’t he let the police catch this one?
