Yea, he’s kind of screwing over Deb by “disappearing” the killer instead of letting the Miami PD find him. Presumably catching such a colorful serial killer would be a big boost to her in her new position.
Depends how you define “sabotage”. It’s arguable he sabotaged the case of just about every single person he killed instead of helped catch. There was was one case that that Keith Carradine’s character questioned him about, one that wasn’t shown on the series, and it quickly became clear that Dex had committed perjury so the guy could go free and Dexter would be able to get him. We don’t know how often that happened.
When the show started, he said something about how he killed those who had evaded prosecution for whatever reason.
Sometimes the reason is Dexter.

Yeah, what’s the deal with bringing the brother back? I’m sure it has something to do with Dexter’s spiritual quest, but that didn’t exactly last long or end well.
Hallucinatory characters are getting kinda think on the ground. Still, the seasons at least getting a little more interesting.
Also, how many boarded up stone Cathedrals are in the Miami area? If I were looking for a crazy Revelations obsessed serial killer, the one Hanks and Olmos appear to be using as a base would be the first, second and third place I’d look.
I wonder how many there are with intact stained glass windows and crucifixes and the like. You’d think any vandals who didn’t shoot those out just for shits and giggles would break in and steal them since they have monetary value.
