I didn’t get that one, but once I did get an email that purported to be from amazon (with whom I do plenty of business, so I get lots of emails from them). This one was in my spam folder, which should have tipped me off. I opened it and within minutes my hard drive was frozen. I don’t remember the name of the virus/trojan/malware/whatever, as this was years ago, but I spent the next two weeks fixing and reinstalling my operating system. I believe I came here for help with that one. I had only my phone to post from. It was a nightmare.
Motto: don’t open suspicious emails from amazon (or anyone else).
I checked for an attachment before opening the email.
Pretty strange. I’ll change my Amazon password just in case.
It does raise the question why this doesn’t happen frequently. It’s so easy to fumble around on a phone and hit send. If it’s a mailing list then lots of people get a unfinished email.
As I recall, the one that messed me up did not have an attachment, which is why I thought it was okay to open it. I would never open a questionable attachment.
