Did Cheez-It change its basic recipe?

The last few boxes we’ve gotten were - visibly and on the tongue - much less salty than before, but didn’t say “Low Salt” or anything like that. Anyone else notice this?

I’m not sure what, but something has definitely changed. I miss the old version. The new ones seem so bland.

Then it’s not just me! Yeah, they’re definitely not as salty, and much more boring a flavor. :frowning:

I recently picked up a box, after not having them for years, and I have to say I like them better now. They seem to taste more baked, if that makes sense.

I have read that many foodmakers have been trying to lessen sodium in their foods. This may be an example of that.

Oh good! Glad it’s not just me!

They taste like clay. I used to love them but now I buy a box and they sit forever.

Thanks, folks. If I wanted low-salt, I’d have bought low-salt! I prefer the old ones.

Aren’t Cheez-Nips basically the same thing? Maybe they’re still salty-goodness.

Where are you buying them? Warehouse stores where you buy by the ton often seem use a different recipe for snack items.

Cheez-Nips, to me, are much more spicy. But since Cheez-Its are so bland, I might have to switch!

I buy mine at the grocery store FWIW. Never a warehouse store.

Maybe there’s a generic alternative. If anyone finds one, let me know.

I hope they didn’t change the recipe of the White Cheddar Cheez-Its, or I’m gonna be seriously pissed. Those are my favorite.
