The esteemed Cockney Rebel is refering to my rather rotund physique, like the lowlife punk he is.
Yes! Indeed, we did it.
I married my beautiful Tamalene on February 29, 2004, in the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, NV. It was a sweet private ceremony (just the two of us!), which -as we found out later per the DVD- was over within 6 minutes.
We didn’t care, though, we were just happy to have it all over and done with. We were both so nervous! Incredible, as we were the only two people there (apart from the minister, the DVD recording lady, and the photographer :)), but still!
The day then rapidly continued with a quick dash down the Vegas Strip towards our Honeymoon Suite, which was absolutely gorgeous. Drinking champagne in an indoor spa with your new bride - life could definitely be worse, dudes.
That night, we dined at the Rosewood Grill, a fantastic seafood restaurant just off the strip, near the Monte Carlo. Oysters, fresh Maine lobster, crablegs… it was positively gorgeous. And, it provided for an excellent breakfast the next morning in the suite, too, thanks to the marvels of the American doggie bag system.
Combined with the 1.5 liter bottle of champagne my parents ordered into our suite, I can say we had a great honeymoon day/night/morning after.
Afterwards, we spent a week traveling Northern Arizona (Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Prescott, et cetera), which was absolutely beautiful.
Now, the official wedding pictures are still being developed. But there were a few pictures taken at a small family reception we held last Saturday in Phoenix. I wore a tails coat for the official ceremony, but Tamalene looks just like she did on the big day (and who gives a damn about that fat groom, anyway ;)).
My lovely wife and I
Isn’t she just absolutely breathtaking??
And here are our wedding rings! Both are the same design: hers is a yellow and white gold combination, while mine is entirely white gold. Sort of like our skin colours.
Unfortunately, I don’t have mine on right now, as the rings in the picture were too big, and the right sizes are being ordered right now.
We’ll keep you updated with more pictures in the near feature. In the meantime, you can all envy me for being the luckiest man in the world.
To make you feel better: I’m home sick now with a serious case of the flu, which I somehow picked up in the States. 'T ain’t a healthy country, man - and that’s besides the 3 kilograms I gained during our honeymoon.
