Having problems posting polls, testing here.

It works. Did you intend it to be public? That’s now the default, and you have to deliberately set it if you don’t need it to show who voted which way. There is a button to do so.

Yeah, thanks. I needed to post 5 consecutive polls over in my music thread and I repeatedly got an error message on the 5th poll.

I thought I broke the polling machine, but it eventually worked.

Yes. The default used to be secret ballot and you had to set it to public. Now it’s the other way around. I haven’t the faintest idea who thought this was a bright idea.

Thanks, I’ll have to remember to set the photo competition polls to private when I create them.

i thought there was a limit of 4 consecutive posts by any 1 poster, but i’ve
just tried it in a test thread and it seems to be at least 5 now !

I had never heard of a consecutive poll limit. I attempted posting that 5th poll 5 or 6 times before it finally took.

I thought it was any posts - not just polls.

ETA:
It appears that if it’s your own thread (as yours was) you can post as many
times as you want, otherwise you are limited to 4 consecutive posts.
(That explains my above post - i was using the testing thread that i’d started)

If you try that in this thread you’ll get an error after #4 !

You are correct.

But the error message is different. In your linked thread, it tells me to wait for someone to reply before posting 5 in a row, which makes sense.

In my polls thread, where I tried to post 5 consecutive polls, it gave a weird message that had nothing to do with posting consecutive replies (it said something like I must have poll options listed).

Yes, it’s nothing to do with polls. I thought it was that originally but after research
i discovered that it couldn’t be because it was in a thread that you started…
You poll posting problem must have been a gltch in Jaco’s Continuum or something.
