Let me reassure you, I wasn’t and did not and do not.
(Tempting as it might be sometimes. )
My computer hiccupped . . . and I seem to have lost about 10 days worth of email.
I do apologize. Doubtless there was stuff in there I should have seen/gotten to in the past couple of weeks, though I tried hard to pull out the big issues/situations as they came up.
If you sent me something and you think it was ignored, please re-send it.
My fervent sympathies. My computer did a bit more than hiccup on the 6th of September–it ate the operating system in its entirety, along with 15-20 programs and all my email from the beginning of time (plus browser bookmarks, network settings, cookies, and all manners of other settings).
Yes I had a backup
From June…
So I spent the last 12 days or so (in between worrying about terrorists and whatnot) scanning the hard drive for text fragments, going through them with a text editor and snipping out all my missing emails, importing them into FileMaker, emailing them to myself with forged date headers and from headers to match the originals, and receiving them and filtering them to their proper places in Eudora.
So I will repeat and you should repeat after me lest we repeat these experiences: “I will back up my hard drive. I will back up my hard drive. I will back up my hard drive…”
