Die, you fucking hypocrites at MTV, die!

MTV, in their infinite idiocy, have decided to censor Madonna’s Music video. This is because, as a spoof on gangsta rap (a la Mase, Puffy et al), it portrays M going to a strip club where there are scantily clad women gyrating. So far, so good, just the sort of thing MTV wants to see! However, because some of the dancer’s heads are not in the shot and you cannot see their faces, MTV has decided that the shots are - gasp - exploitative of women! Oh no!
Okay, so let’s think back a little… hmmm… do you remember the faces of all those women in the video for Thong Song? How about in Wiggle It, by Two in a Room? Fantastic Voyage, by Coolio?
I have nothing against the above videos, but if they can show those, why not Music?
And what makes MTV so concerned about exploitation all of a sudden? Were they thinking about that when they aired the video for (Hit me)Baby One More Time? Or Mariah’s Heartbreaker Remix? Or how about all of Eminem’s misogynistic crap?
Oh yeah, right. I forgot. Exploitation is okay, as long as the men and the producers and the Big Daddies are in control. Put the control in the hands of a woman, and it must be stopped!

Wait. You want MTV to be consistent? What a moron. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lotus, you seem intelligent and discerning…
What the fuck are you doing watching MTV?

Thank you very much.

Firstly, I don’t watch MTV. I watch MuchMusic. I’m a choreographer and I like to get inspiration. I turn the sound off on BSB videos and try to get new ideas, if you must know.
And secondly, I like Madonna. That would be my main reason for watching MTV this summer, while I am in the States on vacation. She has a new CD coming out in the fall and all the promotion is happening from August 2 until September.

I’ve never heard of this… what is it?

I can respect that… (as long as you’re not one of those brainless screaming TRL-junkies) ::shudder::

This I can most definitely respect.

In that case, I can come out of the closet to you: I loooove Madonna (see my sig, which is Madonna-related). In fact, I met my true love at a Madonna messageboard on the Net.

MTV make me wanna smoke crack.

Oh, so that explains it.

Well, duh! What would women know about proper exploitation? I don’t want to watch dirty videos by a woman trying to guess what a man wants to see. Only a horny male who follows his dick wherever it leads him can get it right.

Gack.

Thank you.

Not so much thank you.

I, for one, think it’s about time people everywhere stood up for the right of women to gyrate semi-nude on television all they want!

And MuchMusic ROCKS! I used to have a night job that was only about 2% work, There was satellite TV there, and I kept it on MuchMusic the whole time. It kicked MTV’s ASS!

Right on, drainthelizard!
Of course MuchMusic is better. It’s not as commercial as MTV.

Only thing good from MTV was Beavis and Butthead (heh heh-heh). The editing of the videos they show are very bad. The videos they do show are what The Dinosaurs refer to as “Macho Ididot Rock”. I don’t object to rock, but I don’t want to see videos that cater to short attention spans.

MTV does have some quality television–Celebrity Deathmatch. That, and one other show–who’s name I can’t remember–that they only show in the middle of the nigh…possibly because they’re afraid that someone will discover that they have something worthwhile after all…

The only show I used to watch for on MTV was those sockpuppets, Sifl and Olly. Yeah, that could be one funny show. Proof that one can actually do a decent tv show with an operating budget of about 5 bucks per. Other than that, and the ones mentioned…well.
