I’ve noticed diggleblop mainly due to his posting of a large number of ignorant and poorly thought out questions in GQ. Now, an occasional ignorant question isn’t a great problem, but diggleblop is making a career out of it. You’d think that the guy would at least occasionally look at Google or Wikipedia before posting. And of course, there was his rather obvious trolling in this GQ thread about his penis size.
If he’s also making the kind of comments you linked too, I’d agree then it’s time for him to either clean up his act or be booted.

I always see it as Doodlebop. My daughter watches that show. That show is scary.

I find it really bizarre that this dumbfuck hasn’t been banned yet. He’s beyond annoying, and the penis trolling thread in GQ was the last straw as far as I, at least, am concerned.
He’s started 116 threads in 91 days. I haven’t noticed any “great” ones. If any have been of interest, it been on the principle of “even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while.”
I’ve looked at a few of them now, and it just may be that digglebop is the exception to even the blind hog/squirel and acorn theory…
Of course, if we posit that a million digglebop’s writing on a million message boards for a million years could produce a single coherent and well made OP, then perhaps we simply haven’t given him his proper chance yet…

I gotta say, in that first thread you link to, Argent’s post struck me as a little belligerant. He disavows belligerance, and I believe him, but it is clear to me that someone could have reasonably interpreted his post as belligerant.
So digglebop felt he was being attacked unfairly, and was IMO reasonable to think so, and he responded defensively. Par for the course.

I disagree; he responded aggressively. A defensive reponse might have been “Sorry, that’s not what i’m looking for, and I don’t think your tone is appropriate” or something like that. “Asshole comments” is a response in kind*, and you don’t get let off breaking the rules just because someone else started it.
*Though I don’t think there was any belligerency there myself.

I think Digglebop needs some slack to be cut on his behalf. He’s new, he’s learning the ropes, he’s not sure what should be interpreted as impugning him and what should not, and so on.
Maybe he’s being more defensive than most people would be in the same circumstances. But I don’t see anything unforgivable. He just needs to be shown (not simply told sternly) that defensiveness is not necessary in the contexts in question.

See my subsequent post. His judgment that he was being unfairly attacked was reasonable. His reaction was a little strong–but he’s new around here and doesn’t know, yet, what counts as “reasonable.”
Standards of reasonableness differ from context to context, and esp. from community to community.
