Just thought I’d link this, as I plan on celebrating this year if I can find a dino to do it with! (And cos the thread always puts a smile on my face)

This is soooo appropriate, as Science Daily just had an article about intelligent dinosaurs in outer space!
dinosaurs in space!
Which only proves that Start Trek TOS was right!
Kirk vs Gorn
Not exactly taking them out to dinner, though.
I have way too many dinos to be taking them all out to a nice dinner. They can have a bite of pizza tomorrow night if they want.
Well, you know Kirk. The dinosaurs knew that if -he- took them out to dinner, he’d be expecting something at the end of the evening…
I don’t have any dinos, much to my dismay. Could I take out dragons instead?
The judges will allow it!
Yay! Pre-Historic Creature Day is nigh!
Well, we took our dinosaur to KFC in honour of Prehistoric Creatures Day. I think it’s important to acknowledge the sacrifices they made. After all, it if wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be here. Here’s a photo of the little feller enjoying his fried chicken.
You know, I don’t think I actually have a dinosaur in the house.
This makes me sad.
Did you look behind the couch?
I know I don’t have any dinosaurs out in the house, so I’ll probably take my guardian owl out for lunch. I have a stuffed toy owl (I’m tempted to say a Beanie Baby) that I clutch during dental procedures. This prevents me from grabbing the dentist or hygienist at critical moments. I refer to her as my guardian owl.
So awesome!
Y’know, since birds are descended from dinosaurs, that leaves open a much wider number of potential things to take out… (I have no birds either. Do pandas count as prehistoric creatures?)
Hm… consults the judges
It was a split decision, but the ruling is that pandas may be used in absentia of other prehistoric creatures. Make sure they get some dessert!
(And I loved the photo of the dino enjoying his chicken!)
Too busy to say much, but 2 of our dinosaurs came out for breakfast with us at a local Turkish cafe.
Pix to follow tomorrow, with luck.
I have a piece if dino bone… Will I be eaten by all the other dinos at the restaurant?
He did pretty well for a plant-eater. But then, everybody likes fried chicken.
Picu: No, so long as your share dessert.
Can’t wait!
I know:smack: But I never really had a good look at him until I saw the photo! I think Prehistoric Creatures Day is good for raising awareness of such things.
Do science museums celebrate this? They could do fabulous events! I recently visited the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, and they have a fantastic dinosaur exhibit, puts the Field Museum to shame. What great things they could do in the science museum cafeterias…
I searched high and low for dinosaurs, under the bed and behind the bookcases, but have no dinosaurs. But I did take a lion – I have a lot of lions – a bear, and a dragon outside for martinis. We thought about the prehistoric ancestors – saber-toothed big cats, and cave bears, and speculated on the relationship between dragons and dinosaurs. I even took some pictures, but don’t know how to post them.
I treated my dinosaurs (and my husband) to a nice homemade dinner of Chinese Chicken salad wraps. Next week, I will be taking them with us on our camping vacation.
