Diogenes the Cynic, I'm reading about you!

I’m taking a philosophy class right now and am reading the chapter about stoics and cynics. Interesting stuff. My favorite quote so far is this:

“Discourse on virtue and they pass by in droves; whistle and dance the shimmy, and you’ve got an audience.” Diogenes.

Snarling in a tub, defacing currency, and masturbating in public: Diogenes of Sinope was an interesting man indeed.

I would vote that the new incarnation does at least the first and last, and most likely would the other if ever George W Bush had his own coin.

I’ve never really liked that Grant was on money. But he’s protected by the fact that he is on a denomination that is worth more than I’m willing to deface.

I’ll just have to stick to scratching pennies and quarters.

“You already have your denominations, Lincoln and Washington, you don’t get two!”

[/hijack]

We already have a currency-defacer around here. Our resident Cynic doesn’t find it necessary to while away the long winter evenings black-inking In God We Trust, but one of the admins is lame enough. At least, I thought on rereading the thread that it wasn’t a whoosh - I could be wrong.
