Advice:

Turkey: You must take Sevastopol. F Bla-Sev, A Rum S F Bla-Sev is tempting. But will Italy or Austria cut your support? The only sure way is to attack from Rumania and use the uncuttable support from Bla, but that leaves Rumania unconvered. Worrisome. Also note that the Aegean Sea is to Turkey what the Nth Sea is to England or the Ionian is to Italy…a sheild for defense and a rapier for attack. It is vital that you control the Aegean. Lucky for you Austria and Germany are cooperating to take down Italy.

Russia: Not bad. You will probably lose Sev, unless you make friends with Austria. But you’ve got Germany in a headlock, and England is helping. England is your new best buddy. Promise him anything in return for help against Germany. Remember, every German center owned by England is one less German unit you have to worry about.

Germany: You must of course take St Petersburg(sc). Your biggest advantage is that the Russian Fleet in Kiel can’t attack Munich. Better make friends with France ASAP. You’ve done enough for Austria, now it’s time to demand some help from him. It’s going to be touch and go for the next couple of turns, if France jumps in with Russia and England you’re finished.

England: You are doing pretty good. You are guaranteed Sweden, and maybe Denmark if you negotiate with Russia. Since you are attacking Germany and France is looking dangerous, make friends with Russia. Taking MAO is a good idea, that is one of those critical zones for France. If you control MAO, ENG and Nth, you can strike France with impunity, there’s no way he can guard everywhere you can strike.

France: Looking good. But England has telegraphed his intentions with F Nwg-NAO. North Atlantic Ocean can mean only that England intends to attack Mid-Atlantic Ocean. And England controls the English Channel and the North Sea. That is intolerable for France, England can hit you anywhere and you are virtually defenseless. You don’t have any ready prospects for a build this year, unless you take the chance that England will let you have Holland. And Italy is foolishly moving against you, so watch out…but Italy is hit hard by Austria-Germany and Turkey is out for his blood too. Italy’s adventurism against you will be short lived.

Italy: Your aggressive opening is in trouble, now that Austria has allied with Germany. You can’t take back Venice. Your big advantage is that the fleet in Venice has to inch all the way along the coast to threaten your other centers. Can you take Greece? Is Turkey really your enemy? The move to Piedmont annoyed France and doesn’t get you anywhere. Can you get France on your side, or at least a truce?

Austria: Not bad, you’ve got Germany on your side and hit back against Italy. Can you trust Turkey? If Turkey stays friendly you can both wipe Italy off the map. Or if Turkey allies with Italy, they can wipe YOU off the map. Your ally Germany is in trouble with Russia and England, don’t expect any more help from him. And always remember that a dislodged retreating unit can retreat to an uncontested supply center…don’t let that Serbian army sneak into Trieste. I predict some stasis in the crowded Balkans. If you can keep Trieste open then you can get a fleet build, essential in your fight against Italy.

What a turn. Turkey did nearly nothing.

Sigh. That’s what I get for confusing Tuesday and Thursday

Here in the sunny south we don’t like to rush things. Molto piace.

This was quite a turn indeed. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year plays out…

Defense people, don’t forget to play defense. It can’t all be offense. Work harder on making friends. Don’t forget your footwork and breath; breathing is critical.

Defense, schmeefense. A true Samurai focuses his entire attention on his objective; even if his head is cut off he will still complete it. So I want you kids to go out there and Kill. I said, Kill. KILL! KILL!

It’s getting harder and harder for the French to plausibly play innocent.

Russia on the other hand, was nice enough to come over and house sit for Germany while she was off taking care of foreign matters. That’s an ally for you!!

Sooo…when is the next deadline?

'Twas in the e-mail.

Very kind of you, Russia. You’ll be heading out, then?

I sure hope nobody comes to the door or calls. I have the music up much too loud to hear them.

It goes to 11!

Friday…

:: frantically scribbles in her calendar ::

Yes, I knew that all along.

This is very cute:)

It was in the email? I guess I need to brush up on my reading comprehension skillz.

Still mising one retreat, looks like everyone’s going to have to wait until sunday night for the results. My apologies. Enjoy the break and the weekend.

I will, of course, be needing those two areas back directly.

Well, dear, your armies had wandered so far afield, I figured I’d help keep St. Petersburg warm for you…

Well, I guess St. Petersburg is as good a nickname for it as any. Better than "Trouser Python, but don’t you think you’re being a bit forward?

What’s that . . . Oh, the Stp area on the map. I though you were . . . Oh nevermind.

::Runs away embarrased::

I’d hate to think your nickname for Sevastopol.
