I can only do one game at a time, given my work and family schedules. A 48-hour turn would probably be better for me, but I’ll give it a go either way.
I fully expect to be the first player chased off the board. But if I have some fun while learning the game, I’m good.
I played this a few times back in University, and could be up for a game. I think the 48 hour time would work better, so let me know when this gets going!
Not sure where the disconnect is. In PBE games you have a deadline and a GM who manually resolves the moves and sends out an update. This means there’s an effective grace period in most cases. You miss the 12PM deadline for moves, but remember to do it at 1PM or 5PM, the GM can use judgment to accept those late orders so long as you haven’t seen anyone else’s orders. Similarly if a GM doesn’t receive orders from a particular player who is normally reliable, he can send out a message as a reminder and tell the rest of the group what’s going on. This is a nice bit of flexibility and human discretion for IRL issues that pop up.
In this webDip game, with no impartial GM and the lack of an app/reminders it seems like it’s close to a 100% likelihood that someone is going to forget to submit orders at a critical time.
That is likely to happen. It will be the player’s responsibility to check the website for any developments in the game. To avoid that, I’m suggesting people post in here with reminders to make a move. The lack of notifications from those websites are out of my hands.
The 48-hour period seems like a good amount of time for people to make a move without missing a beat.
